Wanted – Discernment For The Win

preachingatvillageYears ago I came to the conclusion that if you persevered, you could change outcomes. That if you were strategic you could set things in motion. I even went through a stage, where I made up words-my friends called them Lee-isms. Sometimes phrases. Overtime I came to see two phrases used nationally. And the more influence one develops or the more catchy the phrase, the more likely it is to be accepted. Continue reading Wanted – Discernment For The Win

Looking For God In All The Wrong Places

brightThis morning I was pondering a string of posts friends had put on Facebook about Bible school. Their thinking at this stage of the game and such. Value and such. I was more the Dr. Seuss kind of guy when it came to school. “Why fit in if you were made to stand out.” (I did try. Only yesterday I was asked why I never went to business school. The answer is simply, I am a terrible student. I can ace a test, get my home work done and race through the books but the physical “school” is virtually impossible for me.) But this is not about school or Bible school or any thing of the sort. Just the seed that was sown in my vivid imagination following some words I had heard earlier. (“Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.” Dr. Seuss.  I love Dr. Seuss. I have 3 series of childrens’ books I would love to write if I had the time!) Continue reading Looking For God In All The Wrong Places

I Hear The Sound Of Rain

You never know the impact.
You never know the impact.

There is nothing more pleasant than to sit under a porch on a summer’s day and listen to the rain. You can hear it on the roof, you can hear the wind of its falling as it passes through your view. You can hear it on trees and bushes and it is almost as if you can hear the plants reaching out with open mouths. You can sense the sound of satisfaction in the air. I have spent many a rainy day on a porch, just looking out, listening. Continue reading I Hear The Sound Of Rain

Come Out! Come Out Wherever You Are!

leejohndrowteamLast night I connected with a friend who I have not spoken to in years. Lives changed. Different paths. Fellow New Englanders we engaged over my article on New England. She wrote back. “Wow. Yes I resonate but I have always felt that it was our time because we live in the eternal now in Him but it does pair up with how God has called me over the past 25 years to release intimate love, boundless expressions of worship and wild creativity in the church, outside of the church, to large groups and individuals. Beautiful words and declarations…He’s always there with the goods willing to release them in and thru us. I don’t believe there is a need for delay or a sense of distance of any kind. At least that’s my theology now after 25 years.” Continue reading Come Out! Come Out Wherever You Are!

A Pearl Of Great Price

preachingatvillageYesterday I wrote what the Lord was speaking in light of powerful meeting the night before. Predicated on observation, I felt the presence and push of the Lord.

One of the first things I had heard was “New England-Its your time-its your season”. And since I had no faves in the Super Bowl I was certain that He was speaking of the spiritual season we are in. But at the end of the article I was lead to share this about the Patriots. “And the Pats? Look for the unlikely to arise.” And last night a man named Butler stepped in in the last 3 plays. A rookie. Beat once on an amazing catch in the 5 yard area, moments later he stole the ball with an interception. Game saved. A name like Butler, moments left, a rookie…there is a lot to draw from the game, but I won’t. I leave it your conversation with the Father. Continue reading A Pearl Of Great Price

New England Is In For A Change!

"Use me!"
“Use me!”

I planned on writing something else. And as I sat down and reached for my laptop, I heard these words.

New England! It’s your time. It’s your season.

And that changed everything for me. Continue reading New England Is In For A Change!

Hearing For The Family Fantastic

leejohndrowteamLast night our home group was on the topic of Hearing God For Your Family. Frankly it is an emotional topic because we came from family! Perhaps in your mind it was non-existent but somehow some way there was a parent or two, which means grandparents. Family. Continue reading Hearing For The Family Fantastic

Controversy Can Lead To Solutions

brightThis morning while pondering thoughts, events and such, I began to think on the following. Before I begin I want to establish “this is opinion” and not to be construed to be teaching or doctrine. (I do not want my phone pinging through worship this morning!) Continue reading Controversy Can Lead To Solutions

Can You Hear The Train?

leejohndrowteamWe walked around looking at the track. One section of the train track was in need of repair. And then there was the train itself. The chief came over to us and said “everything you have been doing is on hold. The only thing I want from you is to get this train up and running”. Continue reading Can You Hear The Train?

Can It Be? The Sounds Of Change?

preachingatvillageThe shooting was increasing. I could see the people shooting included people I knew. People that I considered family. Why were they shooting? What was going on? I was pinned down by the shooting. There was no communication available. I finally turned to the group and said “I can not take this any more. Someone needs to do something. I am going to head out.” As I began to head towards the middle of the clearing light began to fill the air. I was not sure from where but in the midst of darkness confidence filled me and I headed towards the center. I called out for peace. Angelic beings began to appear. I was stirred. Not with anger, but with the knowledge that something great was happening. People laid down their weapons. They began to come out of the woods, the shadows. They faces were tear streaked as they entered the clearing. They awaited judgment. I smiled and began to reach out to hug them. To encourage them all would be well. Continue reading Can It Be?
