Deception And You It Is Time To Overcome!

A Snippet Of Truth
A Snippet Of Truth

Too often we move predicated upon our senses and not the leading or the unction of the Holy One dwelling inside.

Simple traps can include:

  • “I have always done it this way.”
  • “I feel that this is the way.”
  • “It ‘hurts’ and I need to avoid it.”There are a set of senses that we work through each and every day. These senses keep us from danger,  cause us to have a sense of enjoyment, help us to locate or find something or someone. But the reality of it is all these signals we receive through our natural senses (taste, smell, touch, sight and sound) are geared for earth and not spirit or spiritual living.

Now on the other hand these senses are important. But my feeling of “good or bad” still needs to be interpreted by my mind and my thinking. That means my mind needs to be renewed to his way of thinking. (I do realize that I have the mind of Christ.)  My mind is fertile ground for thoughts, but I must determine what thoughts are God and what thoughts are not. Some of that understanding comes from the word of God, other times from my conversations and relationship with Him and at other times through His people.

Deception is not about what you can see but what you appear to see. Too often reliance on our senses is the culprit and not directed from the Holy One. Methods will never replace intimacy and discernment. Rules will not supersede relationship. Honor will never be displaced by a system.

The more “power” I give to people to be them the more messy it has the potential to become. (And that is where honor comes in.)

Lately I have been having what can only be described as supernatural experiences.  Meaning they are outside the normal purview of life. (Seeing a leprechaun might be an example!) Over the last few weeks, I had a couple of people come up to me and describe the same thing about me and walking with me as the other despite the fact they did not know each other. Frequently people see rainbows of color about me. Visiting a friend’s home recently I saw a blue angel appear. Then a few weeks later this blue angel (Which I forgot I had seen there.) appeared and began to pour out blue “metallic” dust over them.

We have senses that are supernatural, but more importantly we must be willing to allow our mind to accept the images it sees. (A friend often says “you do not see with your eyes. You see though your eyes.”) Now the presence of angels or auras or manifestations does not make us “more” spiritual but it does reveal the workings of the supernatural.

Last night I had two dreams on the thread of deception. In both dreams clearly difficult things were going on. Yet well-meaning people were missing the problems. How come? Because their senses were not sharpened and their mind not honed to spiritual realities is the answer.

Last week I clearly saw a flash that I realized was the Lord yet I blew by it, not once but twice! I was disappointed on one hand (The mistake cost me some money.) and excited because I saw the Lord! Just as we shake when we learn to walk and stumble a bit, so it is with the sharpening of our spiritual senses.

Deception(2 Corinthians 11:3) is not necessarily the absence of truth but usually the addition of lies to a truth. This is where knowledge and discernment enter. And when that mixed deception begins to manifest in our minds it is our job to rightly discern, taking action to cast down every thought(2 Corinthians 10:5) recognizing that the weapons of our warfare(2 Corinthians 10:4) are NOT carnal or earthly.

Too often people are quick to point out what is deception in another’s life but the principle of deception is the lack of recognition of the lie. (Matthew 24:24) We have the Holy Ghost to guide us. (John 16:13)

The Lord is for you and not against you.(Romans 8:31)

Isaiah 30:18, “Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you…” (NASB)

Time to dust off, get up and see yourself as God sees you.  (2 Corinthians 5:17) Moving up may be difficult but getting your lunch eaten when you do not have to is worse.

I speak to the very spirit of deception that would  bring doubt and I command a restoration of your mind and a revision of your history. That would be a re-vision of you and your past. The Lord was present and I feel this day He is waiting on you to step into deeper waters.
