Just a thought?
Just a thought?

This morning I was thinking about the dreams of “ungodly” men and women. As I began to think about the dreams, I was drawn to the idea that many times in the scriptures men and women who were not “walking” with God received a dream from the Lord. That changed them. Shaped them.

Genesis 20 tells us the story of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham lied to Abimelech about who Sarah was. Telling him it was his sister and not his wife. Abimelech moved Sarah in with him. That night the Lord invades Abimelech’s dreams with a dream about the lie told to him.Now imagine you are Abraham and you are confronted by the king over a lie you told. Funny how in our day and age I have heard ministers talk about the “unclean Philistine” who would not be allowed to touch his bags in an airport. Funny how we think that the world cannot call us on behavior! (Pure religion undefiled before the Lord include living your life above reproach.) Imagine being confronted about wrongdoing by an unbeliever.

And then we run into Nebuchadnezzar and his dream that requires the interpretation by Daniel of what the dream means. The result of his dream interpretation puts him on the “payroll” of the king. The godly called on by the ungodly.

We see Pilate’s wife receiving a dream that she ends up sharing with Pilate in regard to the person and character of Jesus Christ. Again God shows up in the life of the ungodly.

So, as one thinks about the dreams given to the ungodly, one must wonder.

So, here is a big question. What if the president received a dream? And he needed someone to interpret it? Or to hear it? What if the dream had the potential to change the country? And what if he was never changed by it?!?!?

Would you hear it? Would you despise prophecy? Or the vehicle it came in?

Stop praying for God to invade lives if you are not ready for it…
