Releasing The Creative Force

MarcelI sat there with the young boy. I was explaining the simplicity of genetics. What would happen if a mother had red hair and the father black hair for instance. We combed over this for a while. His eyes lit up as he saw the wonder of creation. How hair color, or facial looks can be passed on. (I remember this from 7th grade.)

We then moved on to history. Not just the history of history books but my history and that of family passed on to me.

Through out this dream I saw this young boy become a man. How he learned. How he wanted to learn. To discover and uncover.

He moved on through life, with a hunger and thirst for knowledge. Not just he could say he was smarter, but from within the curiosity to know life had been ignited.

This past Saturday my grandson and I learned about the heart, the diaphragm and the lungs. Why would I spend that time with a 7 year old? Well, besides loving time with him, I am disappointed in the quality of education being meted out in the public school systems.

I am not jumping on a bandwagon. I am a parent. A grandparent. My mom was a longterm teacher of 31 years. So, when I talk about education, I know what it looks like.

That was the short rant.

He is now thinking about the heart.

As I watched in that dream I thought whether he went to college or not what I showed him about genetics could start a fire. What I revealed about histories could cause change.

I am not sure if we need to “go back to the good old days” to see what we need to see. I know there are some things that I would not choose to go back to. Even in our country I am not sure we can think it will all be the same. (I do think there is wisdom in the knowledge of The Constitution or The Declaration Of Independence. I do not think we want to be colonials or Puritans though.)

I look around and I wonder who will be the next George Washington or the next great statesman (Or woman). Who will be a Henry Ford, a Nikola Tesla or a Madame Curie? (When I was a child one of my favor books to read in the library were the biographies.)Who will invent free electricity? (Will it even be electricity that lights our homes?) Pretty sure it will not be wind or solar unless they figure out a way better conversion… Where will they come from? Who will teach them? Public schools? Colleges? Hmmmm…

The creativity of the universe has been entrusted to man. We talk about the “then there was light” when we talk about all we can do and the potential within. But usually it is centered around healing. But what about the man or woman who invents free electricity or overcomes gravity or develops economical heat? Where will they come from?

All the while I was dreaming I heard the music and the words, Amazing Love. I awoke and continued to hear it. As Tina Turner would say “what’s love got to do with it?” I was not sure at first, but then I realized as the world loves one another, we give up our histories, our knowledge, for the good of one another. When I mentioned free electricity above some were thinking “but why free”. I don’t know but that is what I heard. Why love? Because love gives. Without a reason. Without a condition.

Today my prayer is for teachers and educators to start teaching and begin to release the creativity of the universe into the world.

Is knowing a heart important? It was to Louis Washkansky in 1967. Have you had an Xray? Thank Madame Curie. (Who died of radiation poisoning.) Genetics? Science? History? As Ebola crept into our country this week, I thought first, who will lay hands upon the sick and then I thought who will create cures?

The value is found in the children. And maybe, just maybe that is what love has to do with it.
