It was raining pretty hard as I drove down the country road. There were two others in the car. I saw the person long before we got really close. She was wearing a white coat.I knew I had to stop and pick her up. I opened the rear door and she got in. She thanked us and answered the questions folks asked of her. She needed to make a call but there was no cell service, so I offered her the phone in the farmhouse we were headed to.Continue reading What Me Worry? Love Is The Answer!→
“If you guys can go to the other side of Houston, I can have you on your way home”, the dispatcher said. Home…we had not been to Vermont for nearly 6 weeks. As we left the truck stop, with the idea of a load going home, everything seemed to be going right. I climbed into the passenger seat and began to rest.
I played enough sports to know that if you take hit to the “privates” or you get hit in an eye or the solar plexus, you stay down until the world stops spinning. You just suck it in and relax and let the pain ebb. And I have been around my 58 years and endured some losses and some crazy times that have removed my breath.
Today (5/2/14) I found out something so shocking, honestly it “took my breath away”. Something I thought to be true had changed yet one more time. But this time the results were not like the first time of change. Back then I had someone to “hold” on to and at least walk through it. Today, I am the big kid, the one stuck with the knowledge. The Lord has been speaking to me about healing. A few years ago David Wagner gave me a word about healing. I have pondered it, thought about it and done what I believe I could as I asked God to reveal more and more to me.
In the meantime we are hearing of some powerful testimonies about God healing cancer and all manners of illness. Weekly I hear of the power of God moving in people’s lives bringing healing.
I am a reader and I do follow the news. Not to become fearful, but to speak into the things that I believe need to be changed. This week I ran across two headlines.
Neither one of those intimidates God. He has healed the sick and raised the dead. (Funny that yesterday our children’s church teacher taught the kids about raising the dead. On the way home Jacob prayed for a sick friend and then he started with “raise the dead, raise the dead, raise the dead.” Yeah-that’s what I am talking about!)
We are in time where it is not time to be fearful but to recognize the power of the finished work of Jesus and the stripes He bore on His back to pay for your healing.
I am not fearful. God knows He heals. And if He knows it we ought to as well. He says to “lay hands upon the sick and they shall recover.” Doesn’t get much easier than that.
If you are sick, God is desirous to see you whole, healed and delivered of illness.
All those headlines really mean is we can still turn to Him.
