Gasoline And Matches

Fire, forward, fast
Fire, forward, fast

Many years ago I thought eradicating a pest with a 5 gallon can of gas and a match would be the way. The destruction was to say the least, a little more than I bargained for!

As I shared the gospel of Jesus this week, I thought, how many times in the past did I bring a “can of gas and match” to remove some thing under the guise of sharing? Continue reading Gasoline And Matches

I’ll Stop The World… No More Franticity!

What if...
What if…

I fully understand that the world is carried on in “microseconds’ when it comes to information. As I read the news, I see people are clamoring for instant access to “what is going on” in the world about them. This morning as I read a few articles, I glanced at one that brought chills. Continue reading I’ll Stop The World… No More Franticity!

Let The Children Come To Me…

MarcelThinking about the children.

Today my grandson will undergo minor surgery. My daughter in love will soon give birth to a new baby girl. I love the children. This past weekend I saw all my grandchildren. I was truly grandfathered in! I can not imagine life without them!

Matthew 19:14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Continue reading Let The Children Come To Me…

Stop Broadcasting Their Sin…

2014-05-16 18.40.52The other day I wrote about the word turnaround and how I saw a top to bottom overturn in so many areas. I saw things changing governmentally, economically. Many had this “first” response. “It’s easy to say what you can not see. Anybody can do that.” I believe everyone can do that, but I do not believe everyone wants to or thinks it right to do so. I am not looking to be justified in the accuracy of a word in the next 10 minutes or 10 days. Continue reading Stop Broadcasting Their Sin…

What Are You Saying? A Few Thoughts On Facebook

2013-04-17_13-47-36_533My wife has gone away for a few days with a friend. I am excited for her. The beach is her love. Me, I am lake kind of guy. So, the big question is what will I do with a few days of quiet on my hand. Not all that long ago, I would find plenty of things to fill my “quiet times”. These days I will probably write or sleep. And tonight after work I will be getting Jacob so all in all a good weekend is on tap. Continue reading What Are You Saying? A Few Thoughts On Facebook

“Give Me Your Health” The Second Tactic Of The Enemy

leejohndrowteamThe second trend is to destroy your health. The first was found here.)

The last few months I have seen two tactics of the enemy that have been developing and gaining speed. The first I addressed, was the disconnects that were occurring in people. This included busyness, depression and more. At first, I thought it might have been isolated instances, but as I talked to people, more and more people voiced their feelings of “distance”. In the past I have talked about the advent of social networks (Facebook, etc.) as one of the reasons, the stripping away of freedoms and situations that create the disconnect. Read The News, Change The World!

leejohndrowteamAs I read the news I see that we are “desperately” in need of change. As I listen to friends I see “how much I could be praying for”. Even in my own life I have “needs” or things that I would desire to be different. At some point I will carry my thinking up the stairs and into my room and spend time with Him. I have already spent some time with Him. He is my rock, my refuge, my peace.

I read on the burning topics of the day; economy, racism, finance and pain. I pray over the articles as I read through. I think like Radio Shack, “you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers”. People have pain, we have answers. I am not talking about platitudes or premises of false hope, but we have Him, the ANSWER! Continue reading Read The News, Change The World!

The Silent Become Relevant

leejohndrowteamThe Silent Become Relevant

The other day I wrote an article on the “excessive growth” of Christianity. In that article I touched on the silent generation (1928-1945) and its feelings and relevancy in this time frame. I received phone calls, emails and Facebook messages about that article. One of the key questions from this older group was “how do I become relevant?” Continue reading The Silent Become Relevant

Can Facebook Change Your Mood? Overcoming!

A few days ago I read an article that “Facebook can change your mood”. I thought about it. People can really change your life. Now before I go any further let me say I do not believe the answer is”run away to a tropical island” though in light of the long winter here in New England, that might not be so bad.

People are important. A long time ago in our church fellowship I paraphrased the Gerber ad, “people are our business, our only business.” So, what is the answer? Leave Facebook? Run away? How about choices of friends? Continue reading Can Facebook Change Your Mood? Overcoming!

To Be Or Not To Be … More Than A Question

changeThe woman met me at the door of the church building. Dressed in red, she was beautiful but “sad”. She seemed a little miffed that I had taken so long to get there. She barked at me “you are wearing sandals?” I looked at my feet and said “hmmm…I guess I am.” She continued to block the door.

I had just crossed the meadow from our dormitory at the church property. I had no pressing engagement. Continue reading To Be Or Not To Be … More Than A Question
