Today we step into December. Last night I had a vision that rocked me on the way home. One of those times that leaves you sitting on the side of the road, wanting to get it all down. Tears, laughter and thoughts of “what happened”.
I was driving through a community I had lived in. I was reminded of some of the cool things I had experienced there. Memories of goodness. My heart wanted to hear “change, restoration” and all I was able to muster was “it was good”. I looked at the old and empty buildings and I thought “what can these offer?” I just thought of the emptiness and the times past. Continue reading The 60’s Are Coming→
The woman needed surgery. She was crying out for her doctor. Unfortunately, he was not able to operate, because he too was taken ill. His life style had lead him astray. Someone else was going to have to step in, but who? No one had his skills, his capabilities, his knowledge.
This week my brother completed his 3rd marathon (26.2 miles), running the Chicago Marathon. Number 3 in a year. This one allowed him to gain his best personal time. (5:0:25)And I, of course am proud of him. Continue reading A Run For Life→
I awoke, cloudy from sleep, but clearly hearing the words, “what is the solution”. Do you mean what is the answer, I thought. “What is the solution” came thundering back to me. Clearly my sleep had ended for the night. I lay in bed and rolled the words for a few minutes. I know an answer is different than a solution, but a solution can be part of an answer. (A solution can be the answer.) But I was unsure of what I was hearing. Continue reading You’ve Got Situations, We Have Solutions.→
Does God heal? That question was brought to me this week by a man in need of healing. My answer is and always will be what the scriptures tell us. He heals. But do I believe it? Absolutely. Even when it does not work? Yes. How can you say that? Because His Word is true and truth. But even with your experience? Yes. Continue reading Does God Heal?→
A week or so ago, I wrote on to tactics of the enemy. One was being disconnected. The other was an attack on health. I received a lot of communication from folks indicating that they were encountering one or the other, or sometimes both. The issue is not whether I correctly saw, but what we are going to do with it.
(Over the last couple of days I wrote two articles on the tactics of the enemy. The first was on disconnection in the body and the second on the attack of health.)
The last few days I have written two articles on the tactics of the enemy. Even as I wrote about the weapons of the enemy being disconnection and attacks against health, there has been a lifting of the “darkness” that has impacted lives. I won’t lie when I suggest it feels like “too little, too late” on some levels. Some people have gone on to be with the Lord. Others have incurred huge medical bills, lost touch with friends and family. And I am angry! Angry at the work of the enemy and his deceptions hurting people. The second trend is to destroy your health. The first was found here.)
The last few months I have seen two tactics of the enemy that have been developing and gaining speed. The first I addressed, was the disconnects that were occurring in people. This included busyness, depression and more. At first, I thought it might have been isolated instances, but as I talked to people, more and more people voiced their feelings of “distance”. In the past I have talked about the advent of social networks (Facebook, etc.) as one of the reasons, the stripping away of freedoms and situations that create the disconnect. As a child one of my enjoyments was working in a garden. My parents loved to garden and it rubbed off on me. At one point I was working for a handicapped man down the street who taught me how to raise vegetables, strawberries and the like. All summer long he sat in a chair at the edge of the garden and coached me. “Put more manure in the base of that hole!” he would shout across the garden. And during that summer I watched magnificent produce come from that garden. Squash and beans and lettuce and spinach. I was amazed as I recalled the seeds that came out of jars from the past year’s harvest. And the strawberries! I would pick quart upon quart and 25¢ a basket just saying “grow!” so that I would receive more money and more work. It didn’t matter how hot it was. It was just an incredible existence. Each day I would head to his little farm, to feed the chickens, pick up eggs and go pick the first strawberries of the day. Later in the summer I would pick vegetables for hours so that he would sell them. Each fall we would collect the leftovers and he and his wife would gather the seeds for the next year’s plantings. When the world speeds up and you want to get off, what do you do? Do you hunker down? Hide? Run away? With every bit of gained “maturity” we find that the “geographical cure” only reveals us at the end of the journey. (Didn’t that happen to Jonah? Nothing new under the sun…) Continue reading Health, Wealth & Happiness, Are They Really True?→
