Mourning In The Morning

2015-09-05 12.52.11I grew up in a generation of turmoil. But our turmoil seemed to have a respect factor, even in disagreement. I was a child of the 60’s and if you see some of my shirts you know that hasn’t changed all that much!

We were seeking something. Anything. Continue reading Mourning In The Morning

Prayer That Doesn’t Work? NO WAY!

"Use me!"
“Use me!”

Prayer That Doesn’t Work? NO WAY!

John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

How many of you are aware of this verse? How many of you implement it or practice it? Today is your day to change the facts. To overcome your “back story”. If God can rewrite the story of Sarah, calling her a woman of faith (Hebrews 11), imagine what He can do with you in a better covenant. Continue reading Prayer That Doesn’t Work? NO WAY!

When Will We Make Peace?

marcell and IThe recent shooting in Charleston South Carolina has once again, polarized a nation. I have allowed myself to view it through eyes that brought pain to my heart and to my thinking. Folks died. A young man shot them. I sit here and hurt for the loss and grieve for the families. I find myself frustrated over the media cacophony, the sharp words and the painful foolishness. Can It Be? The Sounds Of Change?

preachingatvillageThe shooting was increasing. I could see the people shooting included people I knew. People that I considered family. Why were they shooting? What was going on? I was pinned down by the shooting. There was no communication available. I finally turned to the group and said “I can not take this any more. Someone needs to do something. I am going to head out.” As I began to head towards the middle of the clearing light began to fill the air. I was not sure from where but in the midst of darkness confidence filled me and I headed towards the center. I called out for peace. Angelic beings began to appear. I was stirred. Not with anger, but with the knowledge that something great was happening. People laid down their weapons. They began to come out of the woods, the shadows. They faces were tear streaked as they entered the clearing. They awaited judgment. I smiled and began to reach out to hug them. To encourage them all would be well. Continue reading Can It Be? A Moment Of Silence

leejohndrowteamAs we set upon the precipice of 2014 turning to 2015, there is clearly a lot to be thankful for. While looking ahead I heard a hush. I clearly heard a hush. Not the “hush of Whoville” but a silent deep breath. It was if the world was grabbing air for the very next move. In the process of enjoining silence, I “felt” the depth of the breath and the tension in the air. Like a hunter preparing to shoot, there was an exhale, followed by a pause. (Not everyone shoots like that, but I do for the most part.) Continue reading A Moment Of Silence

Why Do You Believe?

Question-marksWhy do I believe?

I ask myself that a lot. Not just about Christ, but about everything.

As a child I grew up with a lot of fear, depression and discouragement. I developed responses to things and people that kept me from others and set me on a path that as one prophetic voice said to “had not God intervened you would be dead”. Continue reading Why Do You Believe?
