Your NOW Is Here!

preachingatvillageIt could be right now. Today.

Too often we think everything is down the road, when in fact it has the potential to be in your today. I do not disagree with timing or seasons, but sometimes we hold onto that “get ready for tomorrow, today” in situations that warrant a NOW!

Are you seeing sickness, illness, ailment or disease? That is a call to NOW. Today. You do not have to suffer anymore. Your loved ones do not have to suffer anymore.

(And while I agree there area all sorts of remedies, foods and health benefactors, the greatest of all is and always will be JESUS! I would encourage you to spend a little of that recipe development time utilizing HIS recipe. I get concerned when more time is devoted to other things than the Supreme God of the world who desires to see healing and wholeness for all…ALL THE TIME!)

We have made too many excuses for a God who wants to heal here and now. Whether it is prayer, calling upon the elders or laying hands upon the sick, the name of Jesus is available here and now. I have friends and family striking out against cancer. They do not need platitudes about “some fine day” but they need a NOW.

Over the years we have become so “grace-full”, so “rested” that we have forgot about the demonstrations of power that that appear and signs and wonders that follow them who believe. Grace is the power to overcome darkness from a place of rest!

(By the way -if you are choosing to fill you life with destructive tendency, I still believe God desires to heal you. To take you out of your mess of addiction or destruction.)

I am okay with medicine and doctors. I am okay with remedies and resources. But I am sure God is at the top of my list. I will not lower Him. He is not my plan B.

Yesterday in the middle of a “good time” I was hit with something so painful, so hurtful that it nearly brought me to my knees. Pain coupled with “lights flashing” I walked away from people and towards a friend. “Pray for me” I asked. He did. Pain began to lift. A while later I found myself laughing. Everything had changed.

You may be the person needing a NOW in the midst of your today. I speak to that. I lift up your pains and illness, your grief and hurt and I call peace into the midst of it.

“Peace on earth. Good will towards men.” Think about that. God has sent peace to you and to me.

In the midst of all the news, we are the purveyors of peace. We are the healers of the sick, the lame, the hurting.

While many people are majoring on rude we ought to be majoring on rule. His rule, His authority vested in us, as kings and priests, devoted to changing the world to one of love and peace.

Over the last month, there has been one major thing on my heart for NOW. Give extravagantly. As I have written about it and discussed it with others, I have been feeling this overwhelming sense that giving is changing everything. Not just a “give and get” but a “sow and see”. That $50 to a struggling couple. That extra $5 on a coffee purchase. Whatever it is, it is changing our world. And can I encourage you to not wait for another? To read about someone else? Today is your day. Today is their day.

Believe in people. Yesterday as I watched our church fellowship celebrate Christmas, one of the areas of familyship was to let the young people have the service. They shared Christmas with dance, jokes, songs, readings and poems. One young woman sang a song. As the song broke through the sanctuary, people were struck with the beauty of her voice. Most people did not know. Like many of us this young lady had a difficulty or two. I chose long ago to believe in her. She shared  CD of music she had done. It wowed me. I shared it with others.  They asked her to sing. Her gift shone like the Today is her day. New beginnings!

In the midst of our now, there is a bigger NOW wanting to happen. Simply believe.
