Two dream settings
One was a school room for a get together of friends from a church I was involved in. In the dream people were invited to the gathering with the concept that our “agenda” was to love people. The difficulty came as we sat at tables to talk. After a while people began to walk out. They wanted teaching!
People went outside and finally returned after being upset that there was no “agenda”. Even in the re-announcement of what the purpose was people were disappointed that not more revelation was going to be given. (Funny they went outside to be “friends” with one another.)
The second dream was like a very large school. Huge areas, lots of students. But while I was walking around I sensed this shift. A very clear division had begun to arise. What was supposed to be two sides of playing together began to turn very ugly. As I headed towards the stairs a young man with a rifle appeared and began to cut off my entrance to the open stairway. He came right at me and ran into me pushing me to the side. Others began to fight. As I contemplated the two dreams I began to see that the pattern in both was to get something, to be more educated. The division between love, revelation and understanding widened even in the dreams. And if you could not “do that” what was going on???
What I came to see is that the need to know is high on people’s list. The assimilation of understanding so very important. In the first dream when people went outside it was okay to be “disconnected” from the pattern of learning and education, but when you are in class it is time to learn something.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13 that the greatest factor, “of these was love”.
I think it is important that we become educated in the truth that Jesus stood for and men like Paul broke out for us. To gain understanding and wisdom. I think to not know, leaves the door open for men and women to be taken advantage of. But I am concerned that we are missing something.
In the second dream the divide was over those who prized education above all else and those that, well, didn’t. The desire to be educated became a flash point of discord and ultimately division and potential death.
I awoke with a strong sense of the following. Any “move of God” that leaves no room for love but only concentrates on the “educational” piece will not be much of a move. It may grow but it will not reach the unsaved. We have made a doctrine over what a previous move or revival of God looks like.
The gathering of people for “sound doctrine” that does not allow for the personal expression of Christ through one’s being, will ultimately become a bore and leave people with emptiness, disappointment and discouragement. I am not talking about a “frivolous” moving but I am talking about one that loses joy in the process.
I truly believe the “next” move of God will be so intense in the area of love that “resistance will be futile.” That love will overcome.
What do I mean when I talk about love? I am talking about people feeling that they have “come to the right place” when they connect. I am describing a place where people come together and they receive prayer and impartation with no other agenda than to impart the goodness of God. I am not talking about the absence of the word or understanding, but I am seeing the end of condemnation as people see and come to know the love of the Father through a loving body of believers. Through a group of people who place no heavy burdens.
I know many will want to ask what about the person in adultery, or homosexuality? What about the drunkard or the drug addict? I think if you followed me or spoke to me you would find that I truly stand for what “the Bible” stands for. But I also do not omit the weightier things of compassion, mercy, grace, justice, faith and love. Your words of condemnation do not change a person. Oh, you will receive conformity but not transformation. I have watched many a child or person conform but not be transformed.
I would submit to you that this is an opportunity for you to look around. As a 58 year old man I am one who can tell you what it is like to watch friends who have no friends, no family, “all in the name of Jesus.” My wife and I are fortunate for the ability to see our children walk in the transformational power of Christ.
Another question that will appear will be “what do you do if they will not change?” Yes, good question. I would say pray. Pray and be loving. Jesus hung with those who were not saved. He drank and supped with those in sinful circumstances. He was not concerned about them rubbing off on Him but on Him rubbing off on them. How will that happen unless you or someone who knows God enters their life? I am so less concerned about the devil and so much more desirous to bring the love of the Father through my actions, my being there.
What about those who love to condemn? Love to be divisive? Love them. It is far better to love than to be “right”. God loves them as well. I understand they look like they swallowed lemons and joy is not on their dance card. But love them.
A move of Love. Sounds like a move of God. 1 John 4:8
