In my dream the young man donned all his protective gear. He started his chain saw. I quickly looked around. What was he going to cut down? There was no tree. He walked towards the pole. I sat there dazed. “What was he going to do” I wondered. As he cut into the pole and wires began to shake people began to scream and yell. While some moved away, others were moving towards him. They grabbed the man as the pole now leaned under the weight of the wires.
He screamed, “I have to do this! I am cutting off their communications!” He became agitated as a small crowd escorted him away. And as they removed him I saw “dark light” moving across the wires. Not too long after the city where I had been sitting was decimated. Destroyed. This young man had been trying to save them. Cutting the transmissions of the enemy was what he was doing. Not allowed to, the people were destroyed.
In this dream last night I watched people who began to do what they were called to do. Only to be stopped by well meaning others. And then there was the group of people I saw who would begin projects and would walk away. Sometimes the attraction of something else, sometimes boredom.
There was another city I was in. It was in tremendous disrepair. As I wandered the street I saw half mown lawns, incomplete painted houses while cars and vehicles sat in driveways unwashed and unkempt. In the first dream I had watched a young man get frustrated because he knew what he was to do. In the second I watched those around be frustrated by the incomplete works of others.
The enemy had visited this city of “disrepair” and had walked away with no worries. They saw clearly that this group of people were engaged in a thought process that posed no problems. This city had set itself apart to avoid the pressures of a community that sought excellence in all they did. Many of these people were in prayer, attending church fellowships, but they did not see the “need” to do anything else. “By grace we are saved” therefore why do anything… The problem was as I watched their children, I realized that this “grace given” life was not be carried down the line to their children. What they did in “grace” their children simply accepted as a lifestyle. They had no real ties to God.
Frustration comes in many forms. In the body of Christ we must approach with wisdom and grace as we move alongside another. They may really be on a “mission from God”. Put there to do great works. Let us be careful not to do the “been there, didn’t look like that, can’t be God” walk.
At the same time we must encourage those who move from place to place, as “the wind blows” and help them see that Christ and His complete work , allows for their complete work. Let us help eradicate the “been there, didn’t do that” mentality.
In the dream many people died because the young man was allowed to complete His task. In the same dream many people died because too many did not desire to complete their task…
If I have any one word, it is the life with God is a walk. Your walk is fluid in its movement, sensitive to the destinations of others while walking the pathway of your own. We must be careful not to declare “been there-done that” nor judge with accusation the walks of others. Today, let us do what we are called to do and see His Kingdom come here on earth. And let us esteem others higher than ourselves. For is that not His Kingdom coming? Let us walk in wisdom, love and faith.
