I have noticed that many are caught up in the “stuff.” What is the stuff? The stuff is that which affects you and your understanding of biblical principles, seasons of life and the need for legacy.
I feel the need to expound on this at a later date, but provoke your mind at this point in time.
- Biblical principles are important. They require reading, meditation, conversations with God and His people. Any lack in one of those areas can cause poor growth.
- Seasons of life must be understood. What I did as a young parent and now as an empty nester are totally different seasons. Seasons can be short or long and sometimes that depends on you.
- Legacy, the future and generations to come are what God is all about. If you are building your own kingdom on you and your individuality, you are missing a core piece of the puzzle.
And I feel the need to ask this. Who are you helping grow? Is it all about you? This week I watched a young man change the adults around him. All he needed was…well, a man who saw his value. Who encouraged, edified and exhorted him. Start mentoring and start watching the kingdom take off…including your piece. Are you a musician, a dancer, a painter, a mechanic? Take your gift and break it open and watch it multiply.
Every Paul needs a Timothy. Someone to mentor.
Every Timothy needs a Paul. Someone to be mentored by.
Every Paul needs a Barnabas. Someone one to hang out with, peer to peer.
(8/7/15 I wrote the last a while ago. I am thinking it through. I know that God provides everything we need. That can include people…)
