Have you been deceived about what you believed? It is an important question. How does one change their life without evaluating their beliefs?
I find that very often most people are caught up in a belief that is most likely not being remembered accurately. I think there’s a real reason that God desires that we live in the moment taking no thought for life tomorrow and not going back in the past trying to dredge up something.I know there is a lot of thinking that you can “repair” the past but too often there is a past that is not remembered in its proper context. There is enough research out there to show the flaws of the human memory. Here is one such study. Jump down to paragraph 3 in it.

Dredging up the past
To me it would be like going out on a date with my wife and not paying attention to her because I’m concerned about what I did yesterday that did work or didn’t work. Or thinking about tomorrow and being all concerned about what I need to do instead of focusing on my wife. I miss the very object of my desire…which is my wife.
I see many take this approach Jesus like this too often. I am guilty of it from time to time as well. We sit there and we desire to take time with them but we don’t spend the time in “in the now” because we’re so focused on what happened yesterday and what’s going to happen tomorrow.
My peace comes from being in the moment with Him regardless of what I feel or think. I find one of the greatest deceptions in the body of Christ is what we “think” rather than what He says. We base our lives upon experience and not upon his reality. Let us not dredge up yesterday or engage tomorrow, but let us be accommodated in the now.
When we begin to make a plan, it is much like creating a flow chart in my life. If we make a decision to do plan “A”, “A” opens this up to all types of opportunity. But if we choose decision “B”, “B” may or may not lead us to some of the same if not all of the opportunities in the beginning stages. It is later that many of these pathways change.
The difficulty or challenge often is, too many people make a choice only to find out it’s the “wrong” one. They want to change and end up having to carry many of the consequences, both the good ones and bad ones over into the other game. If we are going to play football let’s not bring a basketball to the table. Let’s make right choices in the beginning. Preparation is key.
Polarization
The last week or so has revealed that polarization is increasing tension in the atmosphere of life. As I have said in previous articles, tension often is the precedent to birth itself. We will frequently talk about a woman who has pressure increase that breaks open for water to be released, in an operation ready to release a child.
We have talked about transition being that place where we go from a “happy” place perhaps to a painful place. But it is at that point in time that endorphins kicking and much of the pain begins to be eradicated by our bodies on ability to deal with pain.
Polarization often comes from wrong understanding, faulty beliefs and miscommunication.
But if we’re going to talk about polarization then we need to see what it really is when God talks about polarization. He says as far as the east is from the west, when he was in contemplation about your sin. We know that the North Pole is the opposite end of the South Pole. It is as far apart as one can get here on the earth. When we have a set of magnets, the magnets have a positive and a negative end. They are polarized. When you put magnets together like polarization pushes away. Opposites attract. That is something that has been built into nature itself if you will.
So one of the things Paul talked about was His thought on social polarization. Jesus talks about polarization in the book of Ephesians chapter 2. He talks about how he was tired of the divisions and he brought all men together. The cross was the equalizer.
Yet, what we have currently operating in our nation, even across the nation is the inability to be on the same page. It encompasses the inability to agree. We get caught up in “fine points” of law rather than the overriding “law” of liberty which houses love, mercy and kindness.
Last night as I was praying for various people I saw a pachinko board. For those of you not familiar with what it is, it is a board where you have marbles that come down from the top of the board. It takes various paths and as it goes own through those various paths it scores you points. What I felt like the Lord was saying was that many people letting their lives be much like a pachinko game letting their lives be subject to the whims of a board rather than controlling the situation. And when they do that what they are in fact doing is they are trusting that whatever happens will be of God when in fact God is trying to get them to see that their preparation, choice and voice establish their pathway.
Today is a day of decreased polarization. The cacophony of divisive voices is being humbled and softened. There is a force in the understanding of Jesus that is drawing people this day in to position, in to passion, in to precision and in to promotion. The strategy of the Lord has no place for polarization and is in fact causing the polarization of people to now see clearly that the areas of pain and despair might be healed.
