Yesterday my grandson and I did a “whirlwind” of some cool places. One he did not want to got until we got there. But upon walking through the door, his mind changed. The second place we arrived that he had wanted to go, turned out that his interest was not in what we had come for, but something else there. And the third he wanted to kind of race through not understanding someone else’s value. And it was flowers…(The last time I had been there was with my mom.)

I think a lot of time in life we encounter that.

One-we end up some place on the way, only to uncover something unexpected. Something cooler than we imagined. Acts 9:3-6 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Two-The place we think has something else that draws our attention. Genesis 28:16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.”

Three-We get so caught up in our stuff, we forget about others or another agenda develops. Acts 8:39-40 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing. But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.

There is so much going on in the world it is often hard to tell what is happening. Saul, Jacob, Philip; they were all going somewhere when they encountered interruptions. God is often in the very midst of our interruptions. It may never be the somewhere but the SOMEONE.
