This morning I looked out over the horizon and saw the turning of the trees creeping up on New England. In the midst of a government shutdown do the trees on Federal land know whether or not they are supposed to change? Are they even allowed to change?

So many are not being allowed to enter into the favorite parks to view foliage in light of the shutdown. They are being met with red signs that declare the “Government Shutdown” and the reasons for the closures. (Who paid for the signs? Did we?) How many will visit New England and not be allowed in? (Yay for Wisconsin who declared that many would not be shut down.)Folks before you get all over me, recognize that it is my thinking, my sarcasm, my blog! Jesus went after the Pharisees, the leaders of religiosity, for keeping the people out. With His thinking and even sarcasm (Or is calling people white sepulchres not sarcasm?) The Pharisees had not only used the law, but they employed it for their own gain. They kept the people OUT!

Out of what? The truth and simplicity of the gospel. The reality of the kingdom of God is it is simple. But men and women for centuries have moved against the people in the church, defining church and the rules! (The American government is simply more of the same. Too many rules to keep, top-sided, unwieldy and too much for the average person.)

I am “concerned” about the future of America only to this extent. I love living here. I want my children and grandchildren and generations to come to enjoy the same things I did. It is not about being a “Christian nation” or where I live for where I live I am an alien scripture tells me.

As I wrote the words,  “I do not like Obamacare” I felt like I was beginning a Dr. Seuss novel! My reasons are few. I am not against the distribution of wealth by the individual who has the wealth, but I am against the REDISTRIBUTION of wealth by our government. My reason is simple. My wife and I had a good policy for 12 years. It was employer provided. That policy is now, because of the Affordable Care Act going to move us to the bottom tier, with super high deductibles, higher co-pays and reduced care packages.

One more minor rant before I provide my solutions. My dad was an World War II (Got to write it out because schools often do NOT teach about WWII!) Army veteran decorated including Purple Hearts. (Yes that is plural. He lost his hearing,   while he endured months in hospitals for reparation to his upper body. He had been shot and mortared. He lost friends. He suffered “battle fatigue” and for most of my young life I would often wake up to him screaming for his buddy to “take cover.” And they would not let him in the WWII Memorial this week were he alive? (I am thankful for my biker friends who are descending on Washington DC to escort WWII THROUGH the gates that are wired shut! As one veteran said, “I’m a Marine, we would have got in here one way or the other.” – Robert White, WWII veteran)

 

Solutions-There is only one in my mind. Yes we can vote and participate in government as the Lord leads. I have and I will. From the perspective of the government of God. Which is ever increasing!

Jesus was and is our solution in all things to come. He is our answer. “Ordinary believers” should see GOD’S POWER demonstrated regularly in their lives.

• Finances-It is time for the people of God to recognize who we are and identify with the King. Not just to say it, but to employ it. Multiple money, multiple food and be known as “extraordinary people. (Acts 19:11)
• Health-Lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. (Mark 16:18)
• Food Supply-Multiply, multiply, multiply!
• Spirit of Herod (Political spirit)-overcome by the people of God.
• Interpret Dreams & Visions for leaders-It worked for Daniel. Rise up prophetic people!
• Let us pray for our nation’s leaders that they would have visitations from Jesus Himself!
• Send angels! Release the men and women of God to do as Daniel and Ruth and so many others have!

God has left the keys to the kingdom here. He is not coming back until ALL His enemies are made a footstool. It is time!

Daniel 11:32 says, “But those who know their God will be strong and do great exploits.” God is raising up a people who will know Him intimately, who will be transformed to His image by beholding Him, and who will demonstrate mighty acts to manifest His power for the glory of His Name.
