Sharing The Wealth

leejohndrowteamLast week, I was with a friend of mine and we were talking about life and where we were at individually as well as corporately in our minds. What we were seeing and sensing.

One of the topics that came up was what do we do when we feel like we’re in a season of not doing anything. That place of “stagnancy”. Personally I have seen, that when we are not moving ahead and begin to develop those thoughts of “where is this headed”, we become bored, complacent and are apt to get in trouble.

I think the biggest reason is because we have “eaten” so much we can not eat another bite!

I shared with my friend that we have a capacity and when we are filled to capacity sometimes it’s hard to feel like God’s doing anything. (I know there’s a popular prayer where people pray “God increase my capacity” but usually that has more to do with our capacity to love and not with our capacity to contain or to hold God’s goodness.)

God, what are you doing? What is next? WHEN?

The essence of God’s goodness, is that it is to be given away. His goodness is to be passed out, expended as if it was a currency. We can not always be in “take” mode. So it must be shared.

When we want more, perhaps it is the time to take note of what we have and begin to give from there. I know that the spirit of poverty and greed can cause a hoarding sense even of His goodness. When what we have is not given, our capacity to receive is diminished.

It is critically important, I believe, that each one of us take the time to give of what we have to others. Perhaps the greatest way to see increase in our life is to give away the smaller amount that we currently have. Even if it is not financial. That there might be room for new and even to see increase in our capacity.

For instance last week I made a determination to give away to people would not normally or necessarily share in His goodness. And yes I believe that it is recorded, that when Jesus talked to people, there were many could give him nothing back. So this practice is not something new.

Add in the fact that the only thing we really have to offer back unto the Lord is praise. So I want you to give some consideration to this, that for a capacity to increase, maybe we can add praise.

I think one of the areas we lose the ability to gain capacity is when we see others receive something and we get that feeling of “why them”.

Let us rejoice with others as they share His goodness in their lives. [tweetthis]You can not partake in what you choose not to be in.[/tweetthis] You can not partake in what you choose not to be in.

Sharing the wealth, if you will is a principle that changes capacities and ultimately changes a region.
