Angels In The House – Priming The Pump

leejohndrowteamYesterday I had the wonderful time of being able to share a message with my church family. One of the main pieces was the idea that there needs to be BIBLICAL based encouragement, exhortation and edification. Thankful for being part of what God is doing in this hour.

One of the things people have begun to ask me about is the continuing and apparent increase of angelic activity and visitations. Clearly they are increasing. I want to be clear when I say this. I do not believe we ought to pursue angels. I am totally comfortable with the idea that angels are here and part of our culture. And when they become visible that is awesome and cool. But I continue to believe that beholding the Lord, brings visitation.Today I am simply going to share a few thoughts. A “priming” of the pump perhaps.

Here is one. In Zechariah chapter 1, the prophet is given a vision to share with the nation of Israel. He does not understand the vision and God sends an angel to explain it to him so he can prophecy from it. Verse 9 says, “Then I said, ‘My lord, what are these?’ So the angel who talked with me said to me, ‘I will show you what they are.'” We see another example of angels explaining a vision to another prophet, to Daniel, in Daniel 8:15-16 and in Daniel 9:21-27.

Now I do not “think” I have angels explaining things to me. (At least not yet!) I submit that maybe in this season for me the Holy Ghost is more than enough! But I do not disbelieve that it could not happen in the new covenant. Angels show up. I know people who have experienced this.

In 1Kings there is the story of the young prophet meeting with the “retired” prophet. In 1 Kings 13:18. “He said to him, ‘I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, “Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.”‘ (He was lying to him.)” The reason I bring this up is because the lie was convincing to the legitimate prophet. It demonstrates that it was normal for prophets to get directions and words from angels. In other words, angels were involved in the prophetic even back in the Old Testament times. Prophets were used to having angels appear to them and to give them prophetic messages to share.

Now this on some levels may have been an Old Testament thing or not. But lately I have had a lot of young people telling me about angels. (You can check out the video of my grandson Jacob below.) I had one young girl telling me about the gold angel that keeps showing up in her room.

1 Peter 1:11-12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven– things into which angels long to look.

Perhaps the reason of increasing activity is “something is happening”. Maybe the angels are activating or participating in the activity, but maybe they just looking on and saying “WOW”!
