I watch all the warnings about all that “is going to happen.” Many of my friends say “see, I told you so!” Folks, our “told you so” attitude about the news and the events continue to entangle people. I get discouraged by the amount of posts of “it’s all over but the shouting” line of thinking. I said this morning that you know it is getting better when Duck Dynasty outranks American Idol. I meant it.The Bible says “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, WHOM He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary.” We are told that the government of God is ever on the increase. We know that His word it is settled in heaven. It is time for His people to settle it in the earth.
It is time to for the people of God to say “so what” to that which is happened. (Please do not pull the, “oh yay, just put our heads in the sand” line on me…) So what someone is sick or an accident occurred? That is not our guiding light. He is!
Start declaring His goodness, His reign. Stop cloistering up with people of doom and darkness and destruction. Be a person of Godly understanding. And don’t hunker down. The battle is won!
The first person I prayed for died! Yet I am sure there are many who would say, “Lee, I am glad you did not quit.”
If you are going to party up, party up with those who are going somewhere, not just reciting the latest line out of the news.
My wife and I flew out on the day after the Boston massacre. We were receiving updates of delays and cancellations. My wife even asked me “should we not go?” The kingdom of heaven is bigger than the government of the US or terrorists. Our plane was 45 minutes delayed to Miami. We got there 4 minutes early! A Muslim stood up on the plane in donned his prayer covering. Perfect peace. “If that is person of destruction-stop him.” Back to reading and never looked up at him.
Our plane to the island was early. Our delays at the airport and customs never happened. On the way back my phone was pinging with all the news of cancellation. A couple who had left the resort hours before us, were still waiting for the plane to get there, to take them home! Our plane was right on time. People I prayed for with and for were on time.
I told my friend on the way to the airport, that people get fixated on what is wrong, forgetting what is right, and becoming immobilized with fear. People have decided how they think it is going to end. I serve a victorious God with a victorious eschatology. His Kingdom is not waning. I am not a remnant piece.
Is there an answer? Yes! Expand His kingdom. Do your part. The national government is not the result of people taking their eyes off it, but the result of taking eyes off the local piece. Square away the local piece and the larger piece can not stand. Go do something! Volunteer, work, anything but fixate on the worst.
If you walk in the room and smell baby poop, it does not mean the world is ending. It means life is happening. Hope is coming forth. “Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox.”
Believe this…”The evil will bow down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.”
