God Who Is Faithful

Arlington GravestonesHe Who Is Faithful

I do not know about you but I rely on His faithfulness. That He fulfills his promises, honors His word and never stops loving me. I am one of those people who when I turn on the switch I want it to work. Delays “annoy” me.But He is faithful, even when I am not.

I had a dream last night. It was a large hotel with a sizable swimming pool. Many people I knew were in that pool. People were being called out but they did not leave. My friend and I went swimming, but then we went up to change and get ready to do what we had been called to do. We realized that an outlet was open in the hallway. We walked by and then knew we needed to fix it. So, laying on the wet floor, we began to reconnect the outlet. It went into place and there was a digital read out. It took a moment but it soon showed power.

There was much more to the dream but essentially I see three things occurring in the dream, reflective of the days we are in.

God who is faithful has called you. Many are called. For some they immediately go to do what is on the mind of the Lord for them. The pool revealed others have wanted the pleasures of the Lord but do not want to respond to anything that requires more than pleasure.

Many will come upon a situation and wait for another. The open outlet needed to be fixed and despite the danger of the wet floor, it was completed. (Even though there was a “delay” it was working.)

The third thing was the fact that many have an expectation of things to work, with out maintaining contact with Him. There was power in the hotel, but if you had tried to use the outlet nothing would have worked.

Today we honor those in our country who fell in 9/11, (Though unfortunately there is a large segment who does not know that.) and in the midst of our country we need more who will step up to the plate and begin to do some of the work their call leads to. I ask you today to give voice to your faith. Not in protests or diatribes but in the love He has placed in you. He is faithful to do all that He promised.
