I Hear The Sounds Of Abundance

leejohndrowteamI was taking a shower this morning and as the water bounced off the walls they began to get “louder”. I heard the words “the sounds of abundance”. Immediately my mind was turned to the following verses.

1 Kings 18:41 Now Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of the roar of a heavy shower.” 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. But Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he crouched down on the earth and put his face between his knees.…

The sound grew louder and I felt the nudge of the Lord, “This generation is to hear the sounds of abundance. They will hear the sound. Many will wonder. But you will see abundance.” Okay, what does that mean? The sounds of abundance. I know the scripture talks of a heavy shower in a dry time.

I began to inquire and think about it more.

Numbers 13:23 Then they came to the valley of Eshcol and from there cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes; and they carried it on a pole between two men, with some of the pomegranates and the figs.

Grapes so large they were carried on poles. Abundance. Feast in a famine. Eschol.

I thought much about the generation part. While we talk about “older, younger” the Lord talks about “this generation”. A compilation of all! And then I felt a nudge. That the wiser, maturer, will be be bringing to the younger of this generation, the vision of abundance, of treasure, of “milk and honey”. I wondered why for but a moment.

I saw this.

This time and season is like a famine to those of us who have been around strong “economic” times where jobs were in abundance. It is the “famine” that is causing those who are “silent” to be silent no more. Much like Deuteronomy 3:27 Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you. In Ezra 3:12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ houses, old men who had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house being laid, though many shouted aloud for joy,…

Those of us who have seen the abundance (And I know it pales in comparison to what we will see…) it is our job to get up and share the stories of abundance to bring increase to the hunger to see this come. These stories and histories have hope bound in them. The release of these stories will bring tears to the older and joy to the younger. They will usher in a presence of change that will dwarf anything previously seen.

The younger has not see the grapes! Not heard the sound! The intercession is giving birth to something mighty, to something big! Cry out for the children. Cry out for the birth. In this hour many will say “the fields are white” and the good news will be shouted!

I hear sound! The sound of a mighty rain! The sound of abundance!
