Service With A Smile

leejohndrowteamEach night I ask the Lord to reveal to me what He would have me to know. Each night He is faithful to visit. And I write about it when I think it is relevant to the body at large. This is one of them this morning.

Have you ever hit a nerve? Perhaps while getting a tooth repaired. This week seems to have been about “hitting a nerve”. I have received more letters of gratitude, gracious messages and “thank you’s” than perhaps any time in recent past. The nerve was about calling people out of their pain, their hurt, their darkness. (My heart goes out to each and everyone of you.) Inviting folks back into fellowship. Back into friendship.

Bless each and every one of you.

Last night’s dream was this. I had arrived at a large serving station, much like the large truck stops. But only in the distance could I see the trucks. Up close folks were arriving on motorcycles. Lots of them. All in need of repairs. (My friend Ed would be in heaven!)Not necessarily major repairs but worn out tires, chains (hmmm), parts and such. (Where were they in 1974 when I started my speed shop?) And as they pulled up I had folks that went over and gently worked on their rides. They told them what ought to be repaired and what needed to be repaired. As long as I stood there, I saw people roll in. The longer the day went on the more serious the needs, the more weathered the people. Clearly they needed as much “repair” as the bikes the rode in on. I watched this until late in the evening, but all you could see were lights in the distance. (It was like the ending of “Field Of Dreams”. All those cars. Except in this case it was all those motorcycles.) The next morning the lines continued. The repairs increased. Some stayed and some drove away. As time went on, larger and larger vehicles arrived.

I came downstairs and on the way down I heard,

By the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong,
And everywhere there was song and celebration.
And I dreamed I saw the bombers jet planes riding shotgun in the sky,
Turning into butterflies above our nation.*

What? CSN&Y? And I thought about it. The song was from a season of love and outpouring in the United States.

Crazy times. The summer of love.

As I inquired about the motorcycles and the station, the Lord began to reveal to me what I perceive will be exciting times.

First there will be people to serve. Then those who are in “minor” need just getting squared away, but over time as trust develops in the region and the Lord leads, more “serious” needs will come and be taken care of. Over time, larger and larger will they come. The Field Of Dreams reference also connotes “if you build it, they will come”. Something needs to be built. Clearly the Lord is the builder of the house, but as in the book of Nehemiah, folks have places, positions, purpose.

There are many who have just ridden around until they have realized perhaps they can go on no more without a helping hand, without someone else.

Well I came across a child of God, he was walking along the road
And I asked him tell where are you going, this he told me:*

We are in a season of increasing change.

I wrote this a few days ago, The last week, admittedly I have been plugged in to revival. Everything has changed since Saturday morning last week. My home has received. My church family has received and the region has been inundated with an influx of spiritual activity. Lives are being changed. Hearts are softening and prayers are being answered.

Folks responded and shared some amazing things of reconnects with family and such. One of my responses was this. -it is happening. The last week I have been connected with by folks who left the church. By those who do not “know” the church. Folks are seeing Him and Him lifted up. I felt the Lord say, “exit strategy”. I think He needs us available… “you may have to X-it to exit.” The Lord is giving “exit strategies” to folks.

There is a need to freed up. To be available. More and more it is “all hands on deck”.

There will be those who doubt and will miss the coming wave. Others will bemoan the fact of the one “they missed”. Still others have no “true” grid for what is to come. For each person there is grace. The wave is coming. You can feel the sensation of power and change. You can see the signs of a “shifting” seascape. Things feel different because it is different.

I sense each visitor to the service station in the dream above is being shown with a calling and a purpose. Perhaps the greatest thing we can do in this hour is understand our purpose and our calling.

It is going to be a great day!
