A Moment Of Silence

leejohndrowteamAs we set upon the precipice of 2014 turning to 2015, there is clearly a lot to be thankful for. While looking ahead I heard a hush. I clearly heard a hush. Not the “hush of Whoville” but a silent deep breath. It was if the world was grabbing air for the very next move. In the process of enjoining silence, I “felt” the depth of the breath and the tension in the air. Like a hunter preparing to shoot, there was an exhale, followed by a pause. (Not everyone shoots like that, but I do for the most part.)

The exhale was the release of the year 2014, of the past, of the history.

I see church families that have held on to their history but lost the luster, lost the love. The Lord says “breathe” free of your past that has held you in bonds. Pause in the pause and see the target before you. There is a future and it is very bright. Wait for the moment. Don’t lose your sight.

I see fathers and mothers amongst many others, releasing a hour of increasing power.

Too often we have looked for the noise, sought the new toys, but this is the time to stop all the rush and engage in this moment of God’s Holy Hush.

For many the ability to simply embrace the quiet is often the most difficult but I truly believe this is the most important thing you or I may be doing. I am not sure of the why but I sense it is going to result in accuracy in what we do in the 2015 year.

May God bless the hush!

After I wrote this I heard Herman’s Hermits singing this.

A Kind Of A Hush

There’s a kind of hush
All over the world tonight
All over the world you can
Hear the sound of lovers in love

You know what I mean
Just the two of us and nobody else
In sight there’s nobody else and
I’m feeling good just holding you tight

So listen very carefully
Get closer now and
You will see what I mean
It isn’t a dream

The only sound that you will hear
Is when I whisper in your ear
I love you forever and ever

There’s a kind of hush
All over the world, tonight
All over the world, people
Just like us have fallen in love

So listen very carefully
Get closer now and
You will see what I mean
It isn’t a dream

The only sound that you will hear
Is when I whisper in your ear
I love you forever and ever

There’s a kind of hush
All over the world tonight
All over the world you can
Hear the sound of lovers in love
