Amminadab-Part Of Your Spiritual DNA

Lee JohndrowThis morning I began reading through the New Testament. Often I “skip” the genealogies. But today I felt God had something fresh. As I scrolled through the names, the name Amminadab jumped off the page.  I went and looked it up. Who was he? (He was part of the tribe of Levites, carrier of the ark.) Why was he important? (I know he was in the lineage leading up to Jesus.) And there it was! “My people give freely!”

MY PEOPLE GIVE FREELY

No sooner had I read it than I felt my heart leap. I thought to myself let me go think on this. Believe it or not my heart began to drop. I had to physically leave the room I was in because I was “feeling” something and not something I wanted to feel. I began to get a “sinking” feeling.I came downstairs wanting to jumpstart myself. And I opened my email. There it was. The answer to what had saddened me. God answered without me making the call, sending the letter I was going to send. He just…did it!

My people are called to give freely. Why? Because “Freely you received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:7-9)

I have a gift. I did not ask for it. I did not pray for it. It came. I love giving words to people. I will often be scrolling down through Facebook or my emails and sense I am supposed to message that person. And so frequently, it is the right word at the right time, I am amazed. I love to pray for people!

Sometimes we just need a fresh word. An encouragement.

Because of the DNA of Amminadab I love to give freely of the gift God has made me.

You have a gift! Be the gift God has intended you to be.
