Last night I had the opportunity of being with some close friends. We talked about supernatural and spiritual things. I was sharing some of the things that many might think “crazy” but only in the church do we spend time “cataloging” sins, experiences, etc.. So many are more concerned with the deception they might encounter that they miss out on the experiences God might produce. I know God. I am not “worried” about being deceived. Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. If it were possible!
How would you have cataloged Jesus or Peter walking on the waters? Or the raising of the dead? Or the casting out of demons or the healing of lepers? What did Jesus “really”mean when He said “greater things than these shall you do”? What things? The things in the Bible? Or the “things” that John 21:25 said would fill all the books of the world?
Are we more worried about a defeated foe and his minions that we are assured of the power of Jesus Christ who dwells within us?
I am looking for the gospel and the message that shakes and shapes regions.
I sat here this morning and I saw two visions.
The first was a bomb that was dropped in the center of a city. As it exploded out of the center rose the word of God and it became a person. That person began to “tag” others and they began to tag others. There was no need of “no tag backs” because they touched everyone. No one waited to learn “how to tag” they just began to tag. And the mood of joy and laughter began to come forth.
The second was a seed that had been dropped to the ground. And it had taken root. It began to grow slowly and then like a shoot of bamboo it grew gigantic. Flowers and fruit appeared simultaneously and first the birds came and then the people. (I believe the birds signify the prophetic voice.) Fruit began to be gathered to feed the village and flowered began to appear from the cuttings taken to individual homes and house. The city was soon beautiful and fed. The moods and attitudes of the people changed. The seed never complained about the hardness of its journey but realized “the joy set before” it.
Love and grace are infectious. “April showers bring May flowers.”
The supernatural is impacting our cities and our communities.
The bomb that was dropped is the reality and the people of God moving out from a common expression. That expression is found in the person of Jesus Christ. While the plane may have flown over head and some may have heard the sound, even as the “bomb” dropped to earth the people were initially unaware. But then the word began touching people. And the “word was made flesh” it tells us in John 1:1, but it now embodies you and I. We are infectious as we “tag” people.
The flowers and the seed are again a picture of what comes from a life, even a life that was hidden.
We are in great times. This morning I see cities being touched by the power and the presence of God through His people. I see moves and movements of His presence changing streets, blocks and communities. There is even a sound of new music in various locations. In some, it is a hum, like that of a turbine or electrical hum. In other places there is the staccato sounds like popcorn popping. And yet in other areas I heard the melodies of rain and rivers running. I see “street sweepers” walking down the sidewalks and streets and removing the refuse of the night and light shining and shimmering where their brooms have swept. Cities that were dark and dirty, are shining like diamonds. There is a song in the land. I heard the words “melting” pot and I saw dissimilar peoples coming together. I smelled the smells of barbecues and food and the returning of block parties.
The sounds and smells of freedom are in the air. Can you hear them? Can you smell them?
This morning hearts that have been heavy are being lightened and hearts that have been full are bursting with love. I see parties who fought hugging each other. I see amazing miracles amongst enemy forces and rival gangs. I hear the sounds of hope.
And I feel God would say “can you believe?” Can you hope for hope.? Can you love for love? For He who has given joy for mourning is the empowerment of our day.
Even now I see a change in Ukraine. I see a change in Israel and Palestine. I see an over coming and overturning in North Korea. I see hope being restored to our country, the United States. I see arms lifted and guns dropped. I see brother loving brother. I see weeping in the streets and a new day dawning.
I heard you say “are you kidding? Don’t you read the news? That will never happen!” I ask you who saw the Berlin Wall fall or the end of World War II? Someone , somewhere, somehow believed. And at some point others joined in. They shed their fear, their doubt and their unbelief. They embraced His love, His grace and His kindness. They began to believe even when they saw not. Choose to believe. Choose not to believe. I long ago learned it is just as easy to believe for the best as it is for the worst.
This is the day to cause your spirit to rise up above the darkness and into His marvelous light. We serve and awesome God, one whom calls us friend!
Simply believe!
I wrote this yesterday and as I went for a walk, as I do, walking the same way, as I approached the top of the hill and went to get on the sidewalk, it sparkled like diamonds! At first I thought the shimmering was the result of an accident and the glass from a mirror or windows. But as I looked I realized it was like flakes of silver. As I walked there was more on the side walk. Now I realized it was probably in the cement, but I have walked those sidewalks a hundred times. Today I noticed. Did the street sweepers appear? God put silver and diamonds down???
