In a dream last night, my bank account was shut down. As the bank attendant went to explain to me, it was the result of my blog. She asked me if I had a license for it. “A license? Free speech is free.” She explained that the “lock” on my account was over the issue of a company’s attempt to stop it. I looked at the information. “USA Express”. The note simply said “blog”.

I awoke from that and immediately thought, my First Amendment rights were under attack. Anyone who reads the news recognizes that. So was that really new?

I thought on it some more. Recently I have had a lot of interest in my blog from places where speech is not so free. And our job is to bring forth the presence and power of the gospel. You may say “this is not new”. If it is not new (And I agree with you.) why is it coming up today? Now?

We are in a different time and place. A new season of change is upon us. The idea that the gospel would have attempts to stop it are not new. Not even where the assault and attack come from. What will be the challenge will be our response. In my dream I walked away from the money to keep writing. (I was not using the blog to make money, but I found my bank account locked over the issue of the blog. They felt if the could stop my money, I would recant in order to release my money.)

Is the gospel under attack? Of course it is. Are people who preach or teach the gospel under attack? Of course. But what is being said I believe is this. Today is a day to recognize those things and stand up for truth. To not roll under the weight of oppression or pressure.
