Who Is My Neighbor?

donttalkI work with a lot of people. I have people that live California and talk 100 million dollar budgets and others who are watching their business shrink in the economy of today. The other day I saw the news that said 96,000,000 were out of work. I thought to myself, that I have forgotten about not working while being consumed with working.

Yesterday while talking to a few folks on the team, I was talking about something and the question arose “what kind of person does that?” The question and its context would mean little to you, but the idea of “what kind of person does that” revealed a person to me who wonders how or why a believer would do something.

Nicodemus wondered things like that, hence his after hours approach to Jesus. To find out more about “why”.

When I realized I am working when others are not I began to compare it to the story of walking by the injured man in the street. Luke 10:25-37 “Who is my neighbor?” is asked of Jesus.

As I had a conversation with someone about healing yesterday I realized this is “not the normal course” of mankind. Healing stands in the face of the world as we know it. As I read of 1,000 children with a mystery illness here in our country, I knew that we were readying to see the miracles of the Kingdom appear. As I talked to yet another man about healing and living in peace, I saw that the idea of peace was foreign.

Like the Levite veering to avoid the man in the street, many have chosen the pathway to avoid the lost, the broken, the hungry and the sick. The reasons are a couple. Fear, lack, ignorance and cost. Many fear for their own situations, their own reputations. “I can’t do that until I get something” justifies lack. Ignorance is revealed when their mouths open. And for many the cost in terms of money and time are too much too “bear”.

And yet, I see on the horizon that deep pockets of healing and finance are going to appear in the globe. Places will be known for their compassion, healing and financial breakthroughs. It will be like “wells” opening in the desert.

We are seeing the appearance of “Acts 29” people in our earth. People who have been strategically placed and have no desire for their own reputation, but desire to publish the name of Jesus and His alone. You will see news of incredible discoveries, previously undisclosed healing and fountains of goodness breaking out in the earth as a corporate body emerges. The good news is on right now.
