People often ask me or other leaders “what is it can do to make my life better?” Only yesterday a conversation with a new believer was about foundation. Where does one put their energy, their study, their thinking.
In my early years, I cut my teeth on people of faith and the Bible. I devoured book upon book. Listened to days of tapes. (You know what tapes are, right?) I wanted to know all there was to know about God and His kingdom. (Even now I am reading books on faith I read 25 years ago.) I was infatuated with heaven.
Perhaps the greatest life changer (Outside of being born again.) is to get a vision of heaven for your marriage, your family, your community or your nation and never waver from it.
I wrote that last night.
As people of God we ought to want to know what God thinks. How He moves and what life ought to look like. Is divorce in the Kingdom? Abuse? Sickness? If these things aren’t, then perhaps we ought to look at our approach to life here on earth. After all, we are called to ask for what is in heaven to be here on earth. Not to become like the culture of the world.
I often think it interesting how many “plan” for heaven but forget they can live it out here on earth. That they can bring heaven to earth. Not just for a visitation or encounter, but truly establish the kingdom in their home, their workplace, their community.
If we do not like drugs in our community what do we do? Do we sit by and wait for God? Or do we turn on the lights with our prayers and our words? Do we not cry out for salvation and deliverance? Do we not become bold in our message, sincere in our actions?
If we embrace evil we have partnered with the devil and his evil schemes. We can not “coddle” evil.
Paul said “we do not battle against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and rulers of darkness”. Jesus picked up a towel and washed their feet. Clearly what we do with people is to serve, but our practice in the heavenlies is to turn on the lights.
What does heaven look like? What are the sounds, the conversations, the actions and the atmosphere? That is what we are to bring to our earth. To establish the rule and reign of the Almighty One here…in our homes, our workplace and our community.
To stop acting like hell is more than just an action of conforming. It is the result of allowing grace to move through your members with your eyes upon heaven. Grace, the person of Jesus, the empowerment of Him and His expression through you. His holiness will pervade the atmosphere and change hearts, minds and actions. To be transformed!
Serve up the bread and the wine of the Kingdom. Deliver the atmosphere of the heavens. Bring about change in the earth through angelic visitations and encounters. Establish heaven in your home. It is not about rules or verses on refrigerators, but about the presence of the Almighty.
We do not go to church. We are the church. Heaven is in your home, “for do you not know you are the temple (habitation)of the Living God”. Therefore, heaven is in your HOME!
Stop the victim mentality and embrace the mentality of the Kingdom.
It is time to change the world!
