Shhhh… Listen! Do You Smell The Sound Of Fear?

fearI think about the fear I see grip people. I think about how much goes unaccomplished in our world over the issue of fear. I accept the fact that fear can be a perceived or real issue.

Some 30 years ago, I remember watching a horror movie on a 19” black and white Sony. I remember the boy climbing into the coffin and I clearly remember the body jumping up. That was it. TV off, lights off.

I had been a horror film watcher for years and all of a sudden this one “got” me. Years later I became involved in witchcraft and I cannot begin to tell you the journey of fear. I do not watch fright films or horror films and have not for many a year. (Who needs the spirit of fear in your home or life?) I like life without fear. That is not to say in my “born again” experience I have not been afraid and had to overcome it a time or two.As a child I had plenty of fears. As a teen and young adult, my drug use opened me up to things I do not want to think about. (I have seen things that convince me drug use may be an entry, though perhaps an illegal one, into the spirit world.)

This morning I read an article, though that convinced me not only of the work of the enemy and fear, but how great our God is and our understanding of the finished work, the death of Adam and who we are in Christ.

Scientists prove that the smell of fear can be inherited through genes and then passed down through two generations

Wow! When I read that I thought the most likely sense in my being is the one triggered by smell. I can walk by something that triggers a childhood memory so quickly it is amazing.

  • Mice taught to fear smells pass this information to their offspring
  • The fear apparently causes chemical changes in their sperm
  • This then alters the brains of their children causing them to fear the smell

Now I do not believe in generational curses, but I do believe in generational influences. If you are not born again (Even if you are and believe you have an “old man” you are carrying around.), entering into the reception of receiving a new Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, the influences of generations and sin have a pull on you. But in receiving Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are set free from all of this. You have a new Father, one who is not corrupt, fearful or hateful.

Did you see that fear can change genetic and physiological makeup? WOW! All the more reason to avoid drama, especially fear!

Today begin to recognize how clearly you are set free from the generational influence. You do not have to “die like mom” or drink like grandpappy Smith. You have a new Daddy and His name is Jesus.

Fear not!
