I found myself having another technology dream last night. (For those who want to hear from God, we often hear where we are at as opposed to where we could be…) In the dream I was dealing with a client over his “Microsoft Licensing”. Now in the real world of tech, this is perhaps one of the greatest “jungles” I encounter on a daily basis. Make a mistake in business and it can cost you $5,000 per incident, plus possible jail. And it is “convoluted” on a certain level with lots of rules. But that aside, in my dream the client was facing a software audit. (Like an IRS audit, it determines compliance and such.) My client was concerned.
Here we were. Client is facing an audit. I am trying to make sure he is prepared for the audit, that his licensing is in compliance, that his business is in order. No matter what I put together for him, it was not enough in the eyes of the auditor. And finally I found something they could not overrule, find issue with. The client was cleared. In the dream, it was a blanket license, handed down from a large “somewhat unknown company”. It was the trump card in the audit. When I showed him this paper, he folded his laptop, gathered his paperwork and walked away, saying “you are free”.
My client asked me where this paper had come from. He had not heard of it. I shared with him that he would never have to fear another audit.
I awoke from the dream and had two thoughts. Fear does not have to rule. How great is our God! Clearly this dream spoke of assurance in Him, the removal of fear and the abundance of God.
I began a series on my Facebook page in light of the riots last weekend. It is called (for now) “the diary of a child”. What leads up to the fear that grips heart and shakes communities? But more importantly, God, who is great, has the power to come into a situation and remove all fear, is the rock upon which we can stand.
What is it that causes us to lash out, to be mean? Is it not two things? Lack of love and fear?
Just as I described the difficulty of the licensing program, so we have made religion. We have built it rules that are not necessary, added fear and placed a “heavy” burden upon people. Many “do right” because they fear…not because they love or can see love.
The last few weeks I have found various grandchildren who have not wanted to go home or leave, but wanted to stay with “poppa”. Fear would not allow for that. Only love would do that. The same holds true with God.
In the next few weeks you will read of great actions of love. You may have to seek them out at first, but soon, “LOVE” will be the headlines. My client was set free by a blanket license. How much have you been set free from by the love of God and the payment on the cross?
