When Love Is The Answer…

2013-12-20 17.14.38Jacob said good night to me and turned to my wife and said “he is easy to love”. I thought to myself as I came downstairs, is that not what being more “like” Jesus is. In a world where life is seemingly getting harder, there needs to be more love.

My daughter Amy wrote this on her Facebook wall yesterday. “Is what you do daily making a positive impact on people? Are you leaving behind a legacy? Is what we consume our time with all worth it? Questions to ask yourself. Realizing that being busy all the time isn’t helping to live a life with purpose. Food for thought.”

Most of that comes down to love. If Jesus is the answer then that makes love the answer because Jesus is love.

In a dream I was being made ready for a TV show I was to appear on. I had gone and had my hair cut and shaved. Upon walking on the set they took me to “makeup” and began the process of getting me ready. Things I thought I had already done were being done “better”. I argued but this was their show.

I wrote this yesterday, “in the midst of life. In the midst of imperfection. Being “perfect” may not be the reality He has positioned you for. (Not shrugging off excellence, just knowing being who He made you to be is…well…perfect.)He has made us perfect through His sacrifice, so stop trying to be something you are.

I am concerned that many are getting busier and busier and missing out on the things of life that are important. Family, friends and community. We have people that have made all these rules on how to live and frankly many of them smack in the face of the word of God itself.

My kids and friends will tell you I say this a lot, “when things speed up, relax”. Today give more time to your family. Then consider your friends and others. Solidify the family and well, because it is God, all things become possible.

We are heading into the trinity of holidays and life wants to kick into overdrive. It is not about food and presents, but it is about family. In the midst of your day take a walk, hangout, but most of all love. Love is the answer to pretty much every question there is except maybe “what do you do with fruit cake?” Begin to allow love and watch the world change!
