With Christ There Is More To Love

Yesterday I shared two dreams. My “concern” after reviewing them was that people are separating and leaving love behind.

Within 12 hours or less, I “ran” into a couple of things that just “prove” my thinking AND my need to act in an opposite spirit. An opposite spirit is for instance when someone sows discord you sow harmony, peace and grace. And to say people were “not happy” over some of the dream would be an understatement. People wrote me and said I was “sloppy agape”, “hyper-grace” and a few other things. I am assuming that they were not on the love side of the class in the dreams!

Honestly, I was really going to let this topic sit. While I believe one of the calls or parts of being prophetic is getting people back to Jesus and His plan, sometimes talking about morality or behavior causes a firestorm of sorts and I need a break.

And then I had another dream last night. Here it is.

I went to go to a store. The store was closed. There was paper over the windows. The grocery store was empty. So, I went to seek another. Emptiness, except for a cart with a lot of food in it in the middle of the floor. And while I stood at the locked door someone came in from the back and took that.

That is what happened in the dream. I went to grocery stores and they were gone. They were empty. Every one of them.

I awoke and as I pondered the dream I was captured with the thought that places that believe in the word without love will close. They will make themselves a remnant and call it persecution. These stores represented the word and ministry that wielded the word as a sword decapitating all those in their view. I love the word! I was distraught. And then I was pointed to this scripture. Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Not for the destruction of man!

Now fifteen years ago it would have been different and I would be reciting this scripture. Amos 8:11 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord GOD, “When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the LORD. Coupled with this one. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,

And I would have felt justified in both those and shunning those who would disagree. And I would jack people up over their lack of understanding. And what I am going to describe on a couple of these I would have done to some extent. (In my first years as a believer, I was “taught” to call down “fire.”)

I want to be clear. I am pointing these out because I believe they are devastating to others. Not because I am “going after them” because in my mind that would not be an opposite spirit to their judgment.

Imagine reading words like this, of judgment over men and women of government. A speech of destruction and devastation to be “reigned” down on those who do not follow. Who are not believers. And while it is “offensive” to me I understand their position. Yet I do NOT believe these words are truth or “edifying, encouraging or exhortative” in understanding the view of prophetic ministry. Calling down judgment that destroys is NOT in keeping with the ministry of the Lord. Is there a day of judgment? Yes. A day. Not months or years.  John 7:24 says we are to judge righteously or rightly. I believe that. To judge that by salvation men and women are saved and therefore righteous! I see that and I say that. They are judged for who they are in Christ.

And then I saw this. From Glenn Beck (I am only using his name because he made it public.).  Time to Forget the United States…’: Beck Says the ‘Fundamental Transformation’ of America Has Already Happened” Now I happen to like him. I think he does a lot of good things. I just do not happen to believe his “doom and gloom” thinking about things. And seeing things like this are the antithesis of what I believe and what I see the scriptures to say.

My point in both cases is where does real prophecy go and what does it do? In the first case one is a prophet. In Glenn Beck’s case he carries influence.

Let me say this. I think people are caught up in a lot of bad things. I think bad things are happening. But folks…I am looking for the gold! I know it is hard to find the “gold” in the news (Which is why I am fast creating two online news versions that will carry positive and uplifting news. One is more “spiritual” than the other in its leaning but both are carrying the “right stuff.”) Anyone knows people are doing dumb stuff and hurting people. So should we miss out on the light of good works? I think not.

See, I am going to agree with Beck on the headline. Yes, fundamentalism has come, but NOW reformation is coming. I know he believes it is “over” for America. The prophet mentioned. He thinks we are to rule with an iron fist of sorts calling down hell fire and destruction.

Folks-I hate to disappoint them, but the world is getting brighter. The government of God is on the increase. And people are getting better! Healthier, happier! Jesus did not come to condemn the sinner but to provide a way out of sin. And He did it on a cross.

I have said for a while that if you are going to preach hell and damnation at some point the doors are going to close. You are making yourself a remnant! God is not making you smaller, but He may well protect people from your hurtful influence. Doors are going to close if love is not the message AND the action. God is LOVE!

He is looking for love. To be brought to ALL the WRONG places! To ALL the “not so right” people. Including people like Glenn Beck and prophets of “doom and gloom”.

You and I can change it. Maybe not in a day or a week. But soon. Let me share something from my book “STOP the Interrupted Process.”

On Influence from the book.

Where do these connections come from? How do they get here? Who knows?  I am often in contemplation about the connections that come about in one’s life. I think about how many connections I might make over time. Say over 90 years. 90 years times 365 days equals 32,850 days. If you “met” 5 people a day that number quickly becomes 164,250 people. WOW! Is it unlikely we would not run into people who know one another?  There is a thought process called “6 degrees of separation.”

I am always amazed at the 6 degrees of separation thought. Six degrees of separation is the theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. This theory was first proposed in 1929 by the Hungarian writer, Frigyes Karinthy, in a short story called “Chains.”  Threads, lines of connection.

Folks-you can touch people! You can change the world. There is a revival of love in the air, in the church. It is here and it is coming.

(Someone said to me yesterday, because I was so positive and cheerful. “I hate optimistic people.” I said that is my prophetic “calling”, the “Opti-Mystic”. Opti talks about vision. Not sure she thought it was so funny!)

The words of grace, love and mercy are far more reaching than words of judgment.

In the dream I was shown huge grocery stores that supplied not only the word but friendliness and compassion. People flocked to these places. This is not about a “mega” church but a church, a people that has been reached and is growing. And growing because of love. People’s lives change in the seedbed of grace and loving community.

I hurt for those who feel they need to hurt, to wound. The hard part is their words carry realities. Good, bad and ugly.

Today, let us begin to change the culture by adding love and grace. And let’s just watch what happens!
