The Restoration Of The Spirit Of Fellowship And Relationship

While taking one of my daily walk breaks at work I heard the Lord speak to me the following words. “I am going to restore the spirit of fellowship and relationship.” I knew it was a conversation. Honestly, as He spoke I was too tired, too fried from the week to be focused. Here I was admiring the scenic fall colors and He spoke to me. I wanted to complain. Not now-I am having my quiet time. My regroup time. But I listened as He said He would talk to me about it.

Yesterday was my anniversary and I came home. My grandson Jacob was here. I went and bought some groceries and we had a great night.

In the middle of the night I had a dream. In the dream I was shaving and when I looked in the mirror, my trim of my mustache had left it lopsided. The more I tried to fix it the less it remained. I woke thinking, something is being uncovered, something revealed. There is a truth to myself that has not been revealed.

Are they connected? The mustache removal and the words of the Lord? I believe so.

As I met with Him, I thought, how interesting the word. How it is worded. Obviously, something is missing if He is restoring it. And if it is being restored, it used to exist. Is it a real spirit? I think not.I think it is talking about the motive or attitude behind it. “In the spirit of things”.

Situationally the economy and other things have kept people from being connected. Many of the social activities that people engaged in are down. Other things have added into it. Perhaps, at its core, it is simply a season of change.

The scriptures “command” of us, if you will, to forsake not the gathering of the brothers. Cease not to be out of fellowship or relationship.

I think a lot of the disconnect has been situationally driven. Some of it by economics, some of it by seasons of change and some of it by choice. Like the trees I walked by, the colors were beautiful, but as the leaves dropped to the ground and skittered across the pavement, one could hear the “hardness” or the result of drying out in the disconnect.

Beauty will not remain with moisture. Without connection. Even as the scripture in Luke 8:6 talks of the seed thrown to shallow soil, soon the lack of moisture causes it not to grow. I offer it up to you that there is a moisture or a watering that is needed in our lives.

Where does the moisture come from in a spiritual realm. First and foremost, it is internal life of God on the inside. A well, if you will, providing. Numbers 21:17 But it is also the journey of the “river of life” and the encounters that are made. Yes, we are spirit, but we are man too.

I speak to hearts this morning that have been discouraged, disconnected and uninvolved. Today the Lord is restoring fellowship and relationship. Phones will begin to ring and emails will appear. First a drop, then another. Then a trickle and finally a “gully washer” of His love will appear. Joy comes in the morning, but it begins in the night!. (I am reminded of Moses, as an east wind drove back. If my geography is right, Moses was coming from the west. They did not see the parting until the final part was clear. Exodus 14:21 What began in the night was seen in the morning!)

Even as I write this I am seeing a vision of the family who is going through a difficult time. One of them is outside washing a car and accidentally gets another wet. The other responds by throwing a wet towel. Soon the whole family is involved in a water fight and the laughter is resounding. (some years ago at one of my birthday parties a water fight broke out.Even the most stodgy and solemn of people ended up getting involved!)

I pray that the spirit of relationship and fellowship over take you today!
