Begin To Change The World

preachingatvillageAs I walked through the building, I saw the buttons. 3 out of 4 were still in safety mode, but a fourth was moved to attack mode. I was not sure what to do. I had heard that moving one of these switches after “the fact” could causes the switch to speed up its requirements moving whatever it was connected to into crisis mode. Add to the fact that clearly I would be in trouble for it, I was very concerned. This was more than a small problem. Clearly the endangerment of many was at hand AND I would be in serious trouble.

I wandered around, but I could feel that feeling I get when I know I am going to have to go past realms I am truly comfortable with. (Add in the possible jail term if they thought I caused it and well, I was really struggling.)

First, let me say this was a dream. Not a very comfortable one. The world felt as if it was setting on my chest. I actually woke myself out of it at 3:14 (Pretty sure that was indicative of John 3:14. Lifting up often means action. It speaks of expression.) to avoid it! But instead of doing the wise thing, I fell back asleep some time later. And the dream picked up.

The building was a store. A very large store. Not too far ahead there would be people. Lots of them. People would be dead. Injured. To not do something out of fear, was not going to happen. But to do something, actually had a high risk of imprisonment. Because of the nature of the potential “offense” I knew there would be nothing left. I would disappear. For weeks in the dream, I had been put in impossible situations. Each time I had seen the hand of God. I returned to the kiosk and reached for the button.

Have you ever heard “I am bored” spoken by someone? (My grandchildren have learned uttering those words will find them lots of things to do!) I am not sure boring would be all that bad some days. I would like to tell you my life is boring. I am certain my wife would enjoy a similar conversation.  But alas… (Her statement is “life with Lee is anything BUT boring!”)

What if “life is boring” is to get you to bore deeper, to drill deeper. I think you will catch this. Life is boring. That means you have suffered the ability to not see deeper or desire to go any further. It is time to change that. To view your surroundings. Can you change them? What would they look like in a changed thought process? Being a believer is perhaps “boring” if you think it is only about following a “set of rules”. But when you see it as increasing relationship with the Maker of the universe. Well, life is anything BUT boring. Why? Because you are uncovering His goodness, receiving truth and increasing your love for God and others. (Anything less than that and I would submit to you, you have become bored and need to examine what God is all about. Trust me. He is not boring.)

This morning an angel appeared by the Christmas tree. I can not see him this time, but I can feel him. I can sense the movements of his being. A Christmas star ornament is being moved. Perhaps he is waiting “orders”. Where could I send him? Who needs him? (He was just sent to a friend in a foreign country.)

This dream showed me some battles that would be upcoming. It showed me that I still have decisions to make. It even revealed that not all of what I am being shown is “peachy” leaving me to deploy response and prayer when circumstances occur.

A lot of things may feel like they are out of control. Not able to be changed. I would say, “do not doubt”. Begin to speak and to act as if God Himself was standing right there. Oh wait! He is! You have got this. Don’t like the news? Change the channel or change the situation with your words and your prayers.

Imagine how Mary and Joseph felt the day after the birth of Jesus. Perhaps you have received words or situations that cause you to wonder. Trust in God. He is on your team. He has empowered you to be a world changer. Unlike the fickleness of a sports team, God’s team is the winning team. He will not turn you away or cause you to be disappointed.

For many today may be a seeming let down. In fact just yesterday I heard the 1970 Carpenters’ song in my ears, “We have only just begun…”.

You and I are going to change the world. It begins today. You have been created, made in His image, for today. For now. Some of it may seem dangerous or at best beyond us, but God has given all authority. God spoke in Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
