Business Thoughts For The End of 2013

cropped-cover1.jpgThe next few days are going to be very busy for me (As well as my wife, Tina.) as we close out the year of 2013. What a wonderful year of family, friends, faith, fun and food.

2013 events included the April marriage of our daughter Amy to the love of her life, Manley. What an amazing time as Tina and I celebrated 20 years with her wedding in St. Lucia. And now they are expecting in May 2014. There is another addition coming to our family as well and we will update you on that shortly. In September Tina and I moved to a nice apartment to the north of downtown.

It has been a very exciting year at our local fellowship, The Village Church, where such an outpouring of the goodness of God and the building of friendships has been happening.

Love wins.

The next few days will be busy for many of us, but in this I just wanted to bring folks up to date.

What are we saying?
While getting ready to make declarations over our offering in our local fellowship, Mark shared from one of Steve Backlund’s books about the power of declaration. It reminded me of the book I wrote on declaration and decree. This book is called The Drones of Heaven. So many question what they are to say, how to say it, etc., and those reasons were some of the reasons I wrote this short book.  It is available in multiple formats here at the website. Use the following coupon code to save 50% through January 30th 2014. AK43P Coupon code (You can buy copies for friends and family.)

Over the next few days (Before the end of the year.) I hopefully will be posting the following articles I have been working on.

  • Word for 2014-The Lord has been prompting me with these thoughts and it was complete as I sat with two friends in a restaurant near the airport.)
  • Word for our local fellowship-This is nearly complete.
  • An article on deception-on my desktop
  • An article on polarization -on my desktop
  • An article on “how we get there” -on my desktop
  • An article on 5 chefs in the kitchen-on my desktop

Completion of the handbook for our prophetic rooms will soon be done.

I also am working on a few business plans that people have encouraged me to pursue. They include a “get together” app, a building community site and app, a site for helping small businesses and sellers. (Anyone who knows of a person or people that build apps, please let me know.)

My book’s most recent edit showed up over the holidays. I would like to find a couple of people who would be interested in reading it. Please contact me.

Guest bloggers-I am always looking for people with the capability to share truths about Jesus in a grace-filled way. Please contact me.

Needs
Other than prayer I would like to have the following occur:

  • App designer
  • Someone familiar with Smashwords and Createspace logistics for ebooks
  • Interested bloggers-both to write for us and to receive our blogs
  • Editors and people capable of assembling books

The last area to update is Tina and I have been blessed despite here losing her job. Neither one of us has been hired to date despite interviews and such and yet God has taken us through it. With that in mind some have asked if the can send support of any type. The answer of course is yes. We have a Paypal link here on the site or click the “donations” button at top.

As we close out 2013, I want to say thanks to each of you who have participated in our lives whether in prayer, phone calls or emails. We love you.

A Nom de Plume-Who Am I?

Who are you? No, really who are you? (Sounds like Bill Cosby’s Noah.)

Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised by the number of requests I received of my blog and articles and some of the unusual places they ended up. (Ironically, none of them are “Christian” in nature which is fine with me, just interesting.)

But in the midst of it, I received a question about “pen names” or a nom de plume. I had never considered it to be frank. Not that I really am now. (I have done “roving reporter” type stuff never using my name or anything.) Continue reading A Nom de Plume-Who Am I?

Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag

Christmas2007 011Yesterday was a very full day. I was getting so many things ready in preparation for the appearance of family and friends. Whether it was taking one of my grandsons for a haircut, heading to the store or just trying to think through the logistics of the days to come.

Today I will begin the food preparations, take my granddaughter Mariah out for a special time and do a thing or two with Jacob today. My plan is to be all said and done by 3 or so today. Then off to be with friends and family at our church Christmas Eve service  this evening. Continue reading Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag

A Dream Of Goodness

vision
Don’t lose your vision.

Not every dream I have is a “multi-user” dream. Many of my dreams speak to me, others for individuals, a church and then there are the broad spectrum dreams that are fora lot of people.

Lately we have seen a lot of blessing. Not millions yet, but lots of $100, $500 and a few $1000 blessings headed to people. Yesterday I went to visit my oldest son, his wife and their baby before picking up my grandson Jacob to spend the Christmas week with me.

On the way home I needed to buy gas. I realized I had a choice. Buy gas in Vermont (In May they added a new gas tax.) or squeak across across the line and buy it in my home state of New Hampshire. So imagine my surprise when i was approaching the border and there was a single gas station left and I felt the nudge from the Lord, “this is the place.” Hmmmm… So, I hesitantly pulled in. I put my card in. It asked for a rewards card. I plugged that in. (I had not used it in over a year.) How amazed was I when it recorded a $.15 a gallon discount. I filled up.

The last few days I have had various dreams and a vision about the goodness of God. Continue reading A Dream Of Goodness

Have You Been Deceived About Your Past?

can we talkHave you been deceived about what you believed? It is an important question. How does one change their life without evaluating their beliefs?

I find that very often most people are caught up in a belief that is most likely not being remembered accurately. I think there’s a real reason that God desires that we live in the moment taking no thought for life tomorrow and not going back in the past trying to dredge up something. Y2K A Dim Reminder

Many who read this may not remember Y2K or its meaning. A few days ago I was reminded again of the power of media and fear mongering. Reading the “woes” of A&E and Duck Dynasty simply reminded me of two things. How great our God is and how “bent” some of our society is, specifically the media. (Let’s not grow our kids away from the media, but let’s put men and women of integrity in them!)

fearI remember vividly the Y2K impact. Y2K was The Year 2000 problem (also known as the Y2K problem, the Millennium bug, the Y2K bug, or simply Y2K) was a problem for both digital (computer-related) and non-digital documentation and data storage situations which resulted from the practice of abbreviating a four-digit year to two digits. Duck Dynasty and A & E

prddI read with great interest the debate that blossomed yesterday over the statements Phil Robertson made and A & E pulling him off from the show.

I like him and the show. I may not agree with things that he says from time to time, but that is his right and my right. And any conversation I might have would probably not be seen flashed across the pages of Facebook and Twitter. (I wrote my letter to A& E.)

One of the best comments posted was by his granddaughter, Sadie. “Prayer is the best conversation of the day. It’s better to go to God before taking it to someone else.” Continue reading Duck Dynasty and A & E

Are You Looking A Professional, Experienced Person?

Lee JohndrowAfter being “bait and switched” while interviewing for a job I realize not everyone is professional

This morning I was invited in for a job. The company name does not matter. What does matter was their call was for a specific job. When I got there they wanted to do a little “bait & switch.” Meaning what they called me for (Executive Management) was not what they ended up offering me.

Disappointed? Perhaps. I come from a generation that perhaps tends to be naïve on some levels. Putting that behind me. Perhaps I need to be a little more “proactive” and do what I do. Continue reading Are You Looking A Professional, Experienced Person?

A Dream On Stewardship

trumpetRide in a limo? Airplanes?

(This will be a long read! Please bear with me.)

Last night one of my dreams took place in front of our church fellowship, The Village Church. In the dream many people were inside the school wing and there was an opportunity to participate in helping get the new limousine ready to bless folks with.

A little back ground on me and limousines. When we had our church fellowship I was preparing to buy a limousine for the church. Not a new one but a nice one. (It even had a hot tub in the back!) My reason was (Other than it was kind of cool…) that I would chauffeur people for anniversaries and birthday parties in the church. And do special things to celebrate successes. Take elderly people shopping. (My wife tells me it was a better idea than the army tank I was going to buy.) But, “cooler” heads prevailed and I was asked to not do that.

The other little background is the road that leads to our fellowship was recently redone including a new bridge and the leveling of the road. (Proverbs 3:6) I see this as preparation.  (Our church building is not on the main drag.)

A Murder…Will We Choose Life?

skd284403sdcThe other night I had a dream. In the dream I walked into a room where someone had been murdered, killed in cold blood. I was in a large windowed room. Many floors above a city. Hardwood floors, white walls, large windows. No furniture in my view. Empty, except for the blood splattered floor and a long white extension cord.

Who has dreams about murder? I have only had a few in 20 plus years, but when I do I look for the message. I do not get weird about it or suspect someone’s impending death.

I continued to watch the room. I felt that I was to move the cord to another outlet. To set a trap for someone who I thought was going to come in. I unplugged the cord and I moved it across the room. I left that room. Apparently I had some other things to do. Continue reading A Murder…Will We Choose Life?
