This morning I was awakened by the very loud sound of rain. Roaring was how it sounded at 4AM. One of the things I like to do is “investigate” the sound. Not just know where it comes from or where it is, but what is on the “inside”. (If I am going to be awake, I am going to be alert!) As I listened for hidden patterns and nuances what I realized was the sound was getting louder because there was almost no differentiation in tempo or tone. It was fast becoming “white noise”.

And then I started thinking of the droughts in the earth. The famines and the fires. (I know some think disaster is Jesus coming. I don’t live there!) Why not there? Why no rain?

For years we have prophesied the words of the prophet, “I hear the sound of rain…” The rain is here. It is found in the person of Jesus! The prophet Zechariah said this In Zechariah10:1-2. “Ask rain from the LORD at the time of the spring rain– The LORD who makes the storm clouds; And He will give them showers of rain, vegetation in the field to each man. For the teraphim speak iniquity, And the diviners see lying visions And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people wander like sheep, They are afflicted, because there is no shepherd.…” The rain is here! The Great Shepherd has arrived! Joel 2:23 ““Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.”

Today is the day of increased growth and increasing harvest and fulfilled dreams. No longer will it be from day to day, but that which was seen is now come to pass. God has poured out His spirit.

The increase will provide and the world will change. Even as I heard the rain this morning and gave contemplation to it, I realized that my inability to hear a drop but only a roar was a picture of what is happening in the earth. People are coming to Him by leaps and bounds. There is a flood in the earth of His goodness! Salvation, healing, even the raising of the dead.

Yesterday my 6th grandchild, Marcell J. Petit was born in to the earth. There was time in my life when I would have been “fearful”, approaching a birth of a child with trepidation. “Why in the world would anyone have a child? Don’t you know the ‘end’ is near?” Today I look at him and say “you are going to do mighty things in the earth!”

So, I hear the sound of rain! Loudly! Removing the dirt (The thinking of Adam.) and refreshing our lives with the sound of heaven and the vitality of His life.

The sounds you hear are a manifestation of the realities of heaven coming to an earth near you!
