They Are On Their Way

The Skittish Are Coming! The Skittish Are Coming!

As Paul Revere rode on the Midnight Ride to warn people of the coming British, despite popular folklore, he did not say the “The British Are Coming! The British Are Coming!” but in fact actually said, “The regulars are coming!” (Or perhaps the skittish.”)I do not know about you but I love the word skittish. It means excitable or easily scared.

(When I was a child my grandparents lived near a chinchilla farm. One day a very wealthy out of towner pulled up and asked the farmer about the process of getting chinchilla to market. Ultimately the conversation led to the question of getting the fur to market.  “How many times do you skin them?” she asked.  His response given in dry New England fashion…”Only once because after that they are pretty skittish.”)

We have set the scene for an amazing gathering. We have cried out for lost friends and family members to come into the kingdom. And I felt the Lord saying that the “regulars are coming.” Yes folks, the skittish are coming. The ones who have heard about church, religion and more, but they have come to points in life where their need or questioning has perhaps overcome their fear.

Truly this is a day of open doors. The regulars are coming. The skittish are coming. The families are coming. The friends are coming.

It has been spoken over my life numerous times that I would see them come out of the woodwork. I can only imagine the depth of that word woodwork. Part of a David Wagner word was this “So I release that anointing, come out, come out wherever you are. I kept seeing over the last couple of days And I saw the lord serving an eviction notice on the spirit of religion.“

Folks…”open arms, join arms, the skittish are coming, the regulars are coming.” Receive them with open arms. Join arms because there is work to do and unity to be had. Overcome the spirit of fear with faith, fun and perhaps a little food! Let it be a regular occurrence that the regulars come in!
