Over the last few weeks I have meditated on that thought process. Spoken to me a few weeks back, an older man said “you cannot change them if you cannot get it in them.”
Yesterday, I read an article that spoke of a gospel singer returning to her roots after years of going “off the deep end” in her Christianity. Most people recognize that the church for a number of years; got them “saved” and after telling them what had been erased, now turned and said “be careful” as if God would return to a status of “mad” to keep them there. Freedom would flood a person, the power and presence of God would overtake and two minutes later someone would be instructing how to keep “it.” Continue reading You Can’t Change Them If You Can Not Touch Them→
Last night I had a dream. Interesting because in the dream I had all my hair back! But mostly it reminded me that my anniversary comes up in just a few short days.
My wife and I, on October 3rd will be married 21 years. Who would have thought? Certainly not the naysayers as they spoke their “counsel” over us. Each of us with two failed marriages behind us, who would believe we could make it?
We met in our local fellowship. It was NOT love at first sight. I was always getting in trouble somehow, some way. (The pastor’s wife once said to me that in 20 years of marriage she had only heard her husband yell twice and both times were at me!) Tina avoided me. But one day, I saw her son throw a baseball and no boy is going to throw like a girl, his only role model, I thought. The next thing we knew we were talking marriage. And a few short months later… Continue reading Tina and I Celebrate 21 Years Together→
I have been away for a few days in West Virginia, enjoying the company of friends. It was an amazing time. Spending time away is always difficult away from family. It is made easier by the fact that I encountered some simply awesome people. My list is partial in the sense I will not remember all that I met. But I am thankful to the ministry of folks like Lynn Hiles, Roger Legg, Bob Smith, Dan Keistler and oh, so many more. Southern hospitality, superb teaching and fellowship. It just warms my heart. Yesterday I made a note to others that I thought this was the time where God was going to change people who we had prayed for, been in contact with, etc.. He was making them aware of His love. They were “coming in!” Little did I know that one of my “encounters” would be a woman whom I have never met, but knew of her through her spouse who had worked with me.
Last night a message to me indicated a conversation with her daughter that had left her troubled over the issue of heaven. Her daughter did not want to go. The little girl is 5 and I would ask that you would pray for her. We went back and forth. It was hard for me, because I do not type fast, do not know her, but just kept relying on God and saw her crying. Moments later. Continue reading Pre-Christians and You→

I’m The Captain Of The Ship
This morning I was talking to someone afflicted by pain. Many are “going through something.” I get it. I also know that the answer to your affliction well resides in you. James even says “are you afflicted? Pray.” (James 5:13) It also instructs one who is sick to go the elders of the church. Continue reading It’s The Masked Marauders! Stop Them!→
This morning I was thinking about the dreams of “ungodly” men and women. As I began to think about the dreams, I was drawn to the idea that many times in the scriptures men and women who were not “walking” with God received a dream from the Lord. That changed them. Shaped them.
Genesis 20 tells us the story of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham lied to Abimelech about who Sarah was. Telling him it was his sister and not his wife. Abimelech moved Sarah in with him. That night the Lord invades Abimelech’s dreams with a dream about the lie told to him. Continue reading Dreams Or Disaster?→
This morning I sat there and saw a young man headed towards his destiny of ministry. First running, then roller skating and into a truck of provision. Is this you?

There may well be a difference between supporting someone and being a friend or seeing something as ministry.
First, let me say, here in the United States I appreciate our Constitution and in particular the First Amendment. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.Continue reading Support Or Ministry?
