In a dream last night, my bank account was shut down. As the bank attendant went to explain to me, it was the result of my blog. She asked me if I had a license for it. “A license? Free speech is free.” She explained that the “lock” on my account was over the issue of a company’s attempt to stop it. I looked at the information. “USA Express”. The note simply said “blog”. Is It Ready For The Big Time?
This morning I awoke rather early. I looked at the clock and I said to the Lord. “Could I have another half hour and a dream?” He honored that. I awoke exactly 30 minutes later with a dream.
Why did I need another half hour? Because I was beat! Wandering around Lake George, looking at old cars and enjoying my family took a lot of energy! Actually, it was the heat and humidity! Why did I want a dream? Because I just wanted to hear from Him. Continue reading Is It Ready For The Big Time?
Lights Of Listening – Will You Hear?
Last night I had a series of dreams. A couple woke me up. Perhaps I will share on some of them in the coming days. But here is what is more important to me, that dreams are developing into two categories. One category is the those dreams that introduce people, places and situations and develop an allegorical or “fantasy” scenario. (The ones that seemed so true, only to awaken and realize that is not a true thing or that scripture is not really a scripture.) And yet upon examining them with the Lord I see the play out of them or the value. The second category is that of those which are what they are and come true. (Only the other day I had a dream about someone and it came true just as shown.) Continue reading Lights Of Listening – Will You Hear?
Mixing Their Faith With The Promise
It “seems” like “it” is in the air. The disconnects, the changes, even the heart breaks. Last night my prayer list grew, my phone rang and I thought, I am “taking it in stride”, meaning the flow of things. Apparently taking it in stride was not best approach. I spent a lot of the night “up” and away. While I was “up” I was praying. While I was away I was seeing, as dreams took me all over the place. Yes, it was a pretty sleepless night. But it reminded me that to pray was the “word” of the day, night and all in between. Continue reading Mixing Their Faith With The Promise
A City With No Walls…
Each morning, particularly those that I have to head off to work, I get up and write. It is my quiet time if you will. God is faithful to wake me up at 5:55 these days. No alarm clock is better than the presence of the Lord. (Non-work days I often find myself up even earlier knowing there is a day of unknown goodness and everything is ahead!) But my getting up and such, is a discipline. I know people do not “like” that word discipline, as they consider it a religious word. A word that “robs” the of them of the freedom they believe they were so much intended for. Continue reading A City With No Walls…
Overcomers Overcome
Yesterday I took on a new challenge. I went to the gym to lift weights and get back in shape. I am determined my life will be one of strength and vitality. Today, I am looking for the number of the truck that ran over me in the middle of the night! WOW! Brings new meaning to “pain=gain” or some such pithy saying.
Life is meant to be overcome. This is an overcoming moment in it. I will do this. My friend who helped me get started said this to me, “don’t let anyone laugh at you”. So now, I have to overcome weights and people. Anything else? Yep, after I did the weights I went to walk. And my left knee gave out nearly pulling me to the ground. (It had been brutalized in a couple of sports accidents over the years.) Continue reading Overcomers Overcome
Fulfilling A Calling
This weekend a young woman who used to be in our fellowship in Vermont some twenty years ago did something incredibly amazing. She swam the English Channel. I remember Bethany being in our youth group. So I have been following her progress. Continue reading Fulfilling A Calling
Deep Calling Unto Deep
Many years ago an old man told my father about a fishing spot. He told him it is “bottomless”. My father, the fisherman that he was, decided this is where we are going. A few days later he hooked the rowboat up to the motorboat and early in the morning we headed out. Continue reading Deep Calling Unto Deep
Lay Hands Upon The Sick…
The young woman came to my store every day. Each day she would come by after school and stop in. She was smart, articulate and interesting. She would talk about her hopes and her dreams. She would talk about what she was going to be and where she was going to go. About the world she wanted to see. Continue reading Lay Hands Upon The Sick…
Favor Is Unexpected
Today I have a day off. There was a raffle at work and I won today off. So I am happy. But the announcement of winning at 5PM last night made me realize that while winning a day off was nice, I had not “planned” for it on some levels. What I mean by that is to have the day off meant some things like locating a team mate to take over my calls, emails and such. It meant I had to program my phone, my email and make sure nothing was “hanging fire”. Continue reading Favor Is Unexpected
