Does God heal? That question was brought to me this week by a man in need of healing. My answer is and always will be what the scriptures tell us. He heals. But do I believe it? Absolutely. Even when it does not work? Yes. How can you say that? Because His Word is true and truth. But even with your experience? Yes.

My faith is in Him. In 1 Peter 2:24 it tells me “that by His stripes we were healed”. Were…

(Many articulate this better, but I know many who “know it” but never make the attempt to experience it.)

One of my memorable experiences was the following.

I was sitting in my living room talking to my wife. There was a knock at the door. A hunched man was at my door. He explained that he was a friend of a friend of ours and had been told he could talk to me. Our friend had said we believed in God and His healing power. As he sat there he shared his story of woe, I could feel the spirit of God moving in the room with us. This man was driving his Jeep when a dump truck had hit him, throwing him out of the vehicle. The Jeep was destroyed and the man not much behind it. He was headed to apply for Social Security Disability after he left our home. He asked if I would pray for it to be a quick process, so he could save his small home. I refused, but I did offer to pray for his healing. As I prayed I could hear snapping and popping and not too long after this “broken” man was standing without a limp. He came to work with me and for the next few years did construction with me. The last I heard he was ministering in the Southwest.

Does God heal? Absolutely! Does it always “work”? My personal experience would be “no”. But that does not mean I do not believe in healing for all. That all are to be healed.

Lately I run into people who need healing and wholeness. I imagine you do as well. Sometimes the greatest giant in the land is our experience and our past. The “what if it does not work”. Folks, creative miracles, healing and more are in our lives through the presence of Jesus. It is time to release it.

Ebola, Retrovirus D68, cancer and more. Do you believe that this list has been defeated by His stripes? I do. And so did He.

We live in unusual times. It is time for the people of God to believe in His truth for their lives.
