This may relate to my own children or a group of people who I have devoted to see their lives reveal Him and His goodness.

21 Years Of Marriage

What will you write today?
What will you write today?

Today Tina and I celebrate 21 years of marriage.

The Lord says in Genesis that it is not good for a man to be alone. I agree. (Always good to agree with God!)

In a day when many of the naysayers in my life are divorced and set to the side, Tina and I are coming into our own. This is our finest season. Our greatest moment! We have great children, who while they experience the bump of relationships are doing well. We have 5 lovely grandchildren. And we have a bright future. Continue reading 21 Years Of Marriage

Pre-Christians and You

trumpetYesterday I made a note to others that I thought this was the time where God was going to change people who we had prayed for, been in contact with, etc.. He was making them aware of His love. They were “coming in!” Little did I know that one of my “encounters” would be a woman whom I have never met, but knew of her through her spouse who had worked with me.

Last night a message to me indicated a conversation with her daughter that had left her troubled over the issue of heaven. Her daughter did not want to go. The little girl is 5 and I would ask that you would pray for her. We went back and forth. It was hard for me, because I do not type fast, do not know her, but just kept relying on God and saw her crying. Moments later. Continue reading Pre-Christians and You

The Nails That Hold Fast – A Dream About Women

What We Chew On

Last night one of my dreams put me in the position of being “hurt” by others and watching them be hurt as well. The hurts were physical. Not deadly or catastrophic but those little “pains” that you know have a deadlier or more sinister meaning. You know the feeling, like you are going to pay for it later or they would have hurt you more had no one been looking.

I woke up feeling not “my pain” but the pains of the many whom were hurting. What I realized was I was the only guy in the dream. These young women were taking their hurts (As they hurt each other.) out on me. Even in the dream I thought this unusual. For one I did not recognize any of them that I could recollect. And I knew I had not seen them until I walked by them on the street or in the park where I was. Continue reading The Nails That Hold Fast – A Dream About Women

Word Of Destiny #6 For The Single Unwed Parent

podcast_logo1-e1377265165667My heart is often broken for the child born into a broken home. But it also goes out to the mom and or dad who is in this mess. Children born out of wedlock have a place in the kingdom as do the single mom or dad. People make mistakes. People hurt one another.

It is the love of the Father that calls them into His place. My own grandchildren understand that. When my daughter felt she could take no more, my wife and I stepped in. Continue reading Word Of Destiny #6 For The Single Unwed Parent

Equal Footing – The Blessing Of Your Children

blessingWhen I was young I attended a prep school that was predominantly Jewish in enrollment or so it seemed. I had lots of Jewish friends that I spent time with not only in school but outside of school. Some played in our rock band, others invited me over for feasts and gatherings and get-togethers.

I understood the Jewish culture somewhat. After leaving Connecticut I had no real contact with the Jewish community until a business I had brought me once again into relationships with them. Not long after that I found my relationship with Christ. Immediately, through our first church I had a number of Jewish believers I fellowshipped with. Again, I was pulled into their culture and what the Jewish follower believed. It was through this I began to understand the scriptures of Old Testament. I studied feasts, customs and more. Experiencing Grace Truth and Love

Ajesus-and-mary2s the world of Facebook, Reddit and news blew up over the VMA’s and Miley Cyrus, my heart was crushed. As a dad, I can only imagine the parent’s internal responses to all of the news. The finger pointing, the accusations and the pain. Does anyone ever really comprehend how hurtful legalism and gossip really are? (I am pretty sure my own children did some pretty dumb things. I never stopped loving them. Ask them. I never waffled about grace, truth and love, but loved them. ) Is it really what she wore? What she did? Or just that unlike so many bound in the church, you just happened to see it? Continue reading Experiencing Grace Truth and Love

Marriage In The Trenches

Tina and Lee wedding
Tina and Lee at their wedding October 3rd, 1992

Real marriage doesn’t usually happen in the bright of day.

Someone asked how Tina and I were doing in the midst of our traumatic house loss. Our answer is, “we are doing good.” Sure we are emotional about the loss and all it entails, but at 3PM today, it was behind us. And we are doing well. Our marriage is strong. When Your Children Grow Up

In the arms of my father(I have the great sweater!)
In the arms of my father(I have the great sweater!)

Over the last few months I have had a number of experiences with my children. (My children are 26 to 32 years of age. Each unique. Each individual. I love each of them.) Marriage, first child, moves. A lot of what we would call the biggies in life. And with each change, I watched the grace of God move in their life. The seed bed of grace they are growing in is growing them up. I have watched as their priorities changed and continue changing. I watch with amazement all they have become. Continue reading When Your Children Grow Up

How Cool Was Fathers Day?

I can only begin to tell you. I would love to tell you it was the presents. They were wonderful! Come on! A sizable Starbucks gift card, A Duck Dynasty shirt, a “grandfathers” shirt, a new book on Gun Control, the Rush Hour 3 movie collection or the cards and the notes. All those were good! But was amazing was the…

Presence of my children. To be able to play with Naomi, to eat dinner with my wife that she did not prepare. To sit with Jordan, Mariah and Jacob at the table. To look through an old album with Matt and Cass. To have my daughter Alyssa be there. To watch Matt playing with Jordan. To say it was good was an understatement.

To miss my children Tyler (And Emily) and Amy (And Manley) as they did what they are in the season for. Ty and Emily preparing for the newest grandchild. Amy readying for her reception next week.

Life is for the living. Meant to be lived. Tap into family.
