9/11/01

My wife and I were headed out to be at my mother’s side. She had pancreatic cancer and we were driving out there to say our good byes. We had loaded up the car and were headed out across Connecticut and into New York. I remarked to my wife, “what a beautiful day. Surprised we can not see any planes as close as we are to the city.” Little did I know a rest area would have folks gathered around the TV as the towers fell. My wife came out to tell me. I turned on the radio and we heard story after story. As we got close to Buffalo, traffic was backing up for miles and gas prices were soaring. People were reporting of looting and price gouging and even weapons being pulled. Continue reading Will They Remember 9/11/01

Going Through The Mill – Flour In The Making

A Word To Hear
A Word To Hear

Are you going through the mill? (Do you feel flatter than a pancake?)

Last night as we gathered to pray for needs, encouragement, people far and near, I saw and began to describe the “victory” party I saw. In my spirit I felt this was a time of celebration. (A while later my wife saw three images; a stack of rings, confetti and a butterfly net, and what struck me was that she saw confetti falling out of the sky and a “butterfly” net to capture it.) If there is victory in heaven then there is victory in our lives, and just as the celebration of God and His goodness is in heavenly places, so ought we to consider the same in the earth. CELEBRATION!

So many are going through the mill that I have been drawn to pray for lately, seeking an answer.  Why is my question. Where is the victory? And last night as I was praying, I began to see the following. (I was praying I think for one, but felt over the night it was more widespread as I received revelation.) Elijah Was A Man Of Like Passions

trumpetElijah was a man of like passions…

Elijah was prophet of the Old Testament. And even by my standards he was a weird guy. (As an old comic used to say “if you think I am weird just what do you think I think is weird?”) There are so many facets of his life to key on, but I think today I was drawn to him by the feeling of isolation or being boxed in. The Weapons Of Our Warfare – A Vision Of Understanding

Ghost Battleship - U.S.S. Texas (You may want to read up on this...)
Ghost Battleship – U.S.S. Texas (You may want to read up on this…)

This morning I had a vision of large hand with a wrench in it. The hand brought the wrench to a bolt coming out of the bottom of the vision. As the wrench connected with the large nut on the bolt and began to loosen it, the vision began to pull back. The nuts and bolts were holding down the base of a large gun on a ship. Shelf Life-Sometimes The Best Things In Life Are But For A Season.

Just a thought?
Just a thought?

For a long time I have said there is a shelf life to things like music, prophecy, beliefs even. The things that are eternal have no shelf life. (By the way “shelf life” simply means that the season of anointing, of grace, of glory has lifted or expired.) The things of legacy, timeless. We cannot live in the past. (Though we must look back in the past to the cross to see our place now. I do not want old slower computers or heavy TV’s or no cell phone.) Young Men and A Fatherless Generation

Passing the baton
Passing the baton

Like many I watched the trial of George Zimmerman. Unlike many, I had followed it from before the arrest. My issue is not which side you or I are on. Here are two young men, who have changed lives. One dead, the other most likely to be pursued for the rest of his life. There is no “innocence” here. A trial is a trial. The answer the answer. Do not presume you know which side I am “on.” You probably do not. I have had a number of people work to engage me. I am more concerned with where we go from here. What Is The Answer?

leejohndrowteamIn light of the shootings and death, I have felt “burdened” to see what God is saying…

“Then He charged them, saying, ‘Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.’” (Mark 8:15)I have been processing this scripture the last day or so. Why? A few weeks ago I found myself saying to my wife “there is an attack on the children.” At the time I thought it was just my grandchildren. I would say to my wife and a few close friends I am “struggling” with this. “Maybe it is just Christmas and the kids are keyed up.” But every time I turned around one of the children was getting hurt! And others shared similar things.Sitting here on Friday as the news of the massacre in Newtown washed over me., I realized that something was going on. Something I had “felt” but not been able to process. Worse, I had no answer. I felt for lack of a better description, “helpless.” Continue reading What Is The Answer?
