I was wandering through the snow near a river. I would see signs that deer or other animals had been along side the river. Sometimes it was but an occasional print or other sign of wild life. Other times there were be the signs of lots of activity. But as I continued along the river, I never saw any animals. And interestingly enough where there were signs of large gatherings, I still saw nothing nor did I see the indicators of the animals leaving together. I had just finished a motorcycle ride with my wife and we had come in to eat dinner. While dinner was finishing up, I heard those words. Great, a John Fogerty song. Creedence Clearwater Revival. I am pretty sure when I was a kid I was not even sure what a revival was or stood for. I knew it as an architecture style and little more. After a night full of “war” dreams I thought it prudent to just get up! Lots of them. I fully “expected” to see something like “WWIII Has Begun” with all those dreams.
The first dream seemed to be about the post Civil War era, though everything seemed modern. In the dream the North was forcing the South to remove their outer clothing. Like many, my wife and I have entered a different season. It is on many levels one where you question things. New seasons often trigger challenges, thoughts and reveal patterns of thought or new thinking entirely.
One of the questions I have asked my self is “have I not believed.” One topic is employment. In 20 years neither of us has really gone more than a week without something happening in the employment field. Last night was multiple dreams throughout the night. The common thread? People needing people. In each dream there was possibility, opportunity and openings. There was also the need for people to come alongside and help. People need people.
Reaching out is key in so many situations. Reaching in is the key in others.
Something is changing. I sense it, I see it, I observe it. Our voices are being heard. I know many are frustrated, disappointed and discouraged. I said yesterday that so many thought 2014 would be the year and already they are pulling the “plug” on it because something did not happen, did not go right. This morning I saw a young man who “feels” like he has failed and been moved to the wayside. The Lord is touching you and restoring and bringing refreshing.
Too often we just need a fresh word of the Lord to change our life, to renew our spirit and get a new perspective.
