Last night I had the opportunity to participate in a fun time called “Guess who is coming to dinner”? A number of people chose to be the hosts. Other people agreed to be guests. The lady who thought about doing this put all the names of the guests in a hat. As she picked the people she assigned them to the next host on the list. I awoke about 4 this morning. As I looked out over the room, thermometers began to appear. I got up and walked about them. People’s names were on many of them. But so were words like children, family, finances. Some had Facebook and workplace written on them. I went back and sat on the bed. Then I began to see walls and on the walls were thermostats. Yesterday I read of a young woman who I knew who made bad choices and was in jail and would most likely be there for a while. I read of a historic heroin bust in the state of New Hampshire. I believe we are wasting some valuable resources in the church. We have often worked so hard to be relevant, that we have downgraded our thinking some times. We have lost some of the things that truly make the church the church. Many of those resources are the folks who went through powerful times. Impartation, meetings and revelation. Maybe they did not handle it right. Maybe others did not. But we can not live our lives as “been there-bought the tshirt” and expect results. There is a cry in the church for change. On Saturday night I was lying on the bed waiting for my grandchildren to finish brushing their teeth and as I lay there waiting to pray with them a I saw a bumblebee appear. I had a dream where I had just taken on a new job and people decided it was their time to prank me. To make fun of me by filing false contracts (No one is buying 2,388 cars today, I am pretty sure of it…)Throughout the dream I had to reach out and uncover the “fraud” of clients and the pranks of fun loving folks. One of my dreams last night was a trip that I had to take to a small community nearby. But for some reason the way we were going to go was more of a round the mountain trip. We could go dead south(fastest), or in this case travel slightly west at which point we had a more direct route or the road that went around. For some reason I sensed the longer trip was the one, but I struggled with the idea that it was going to take more time and more miles And while the longer route was settled and okay, there was a feeling of “why”. One of the big topics in my life is rest. Not fall asleep kind of rest, but the one where you relax in Him. Yesterday began to remove my peace, my sense of well being. A manufacturer had done me wrong. They have a rule and they broke it. Their answer was “maybe the next time”. Meanwhile the pain went from being done wrong to being angry and needing to go for multiple walks.
