As a child we learned a different way on some levels. I think part of my perspective as a child was predicated on asking the questions. Why? Where? What? I believe I was instructed and taught to look for answers. To be critical in my approach to things. Even skeptical. But to stop there would have been error. If I did not believe something, I wanted to prove my thinking. Continue reading What Is The Question?→
[tweetthis]Experience is often a harsh taskmaster. Wisdom is so much easier on the soul…[/tweetthis]
One of my spiritual dads used to say that. I think I listen more to it, appreciate it more now that I have been around the mountain a time or two on a few things. Continue reading A Recipe For Success→
Today my grandson Jacob will head back to his home after being here over a week. Honestly, upon getting up and thinking on that, it caused me sadness. For me, having him here has been a real joy. We have talked about everything from food, to God, fun and work this week. Children. Innocence. Laughter. (Yesterday morning he woke up early so we could hang out before I went off to work.)Because of him being here a lot of things went undone. Continue reading Leaving Lasting Impressions→
Too often we hear people talk of whether or not something has value. The slightest thing has the potential for polarization. I have long ago come to the conclusion that value is found in Jesus. And what He holds to be valuable is what has value and value that remains. Continue reading The Depth Of Our Love→
Years ago I came to the conclusion that if you persevered, you could change outcomes. That if you were strategic you could set things in motion. I even went through a stage, where I made up words-my friends called them Lee-isms. Sometimes phrases. Overtime I came to see two phrases used nationally. And the more influence one develops or the more catchy the phrase, the more likely it is to be accepted. Continue reading Wanted – Discernment For The Win→
I sat here this morning and read the news. Ferguson, Cosby and Gruber. At first, I thought what is in a name. (A whole path in itself.) But because I had been up early thinking about a particular topic I thought I had a glimmer of where I might head. Reading the news just convinced me “why let facts get in the way”. A former publisher, I had witnessed one too many “why let truth get in the way of a good story”. Continue reading Stop, Look And Listen… It’s Coming!→
This morning it was nearly 0300 dark when I awoke. As I lay there I began to meditate on my favorite subject. Heaven. I often think about the occupants, the physical layout, the supernatural beings that are spoken of in the scriptures. The more I think on heaven the more I want it here. Now. I don’t want to go someplace, I want to be “some place”! Continue reading Realms And Dimensions – Thinking Of Heaven→
I think one of the biggest questions in the kingdom ought be this when it comes to the idea of questionable or unusual behavior. I also think the response to it determines what is really going on.
Have you thought this out?
I am finding in the midst of an increased understanding of grace an increase of resentment and rejection of correction. I say this is not a response to religion but a revealed immaturity. Continue reading Have You Thought This Out?→
Many years ago I was part of a canoe trip on Lake George. Lake George is 30 plus miles long. A large wind had kicked up and a storm had blown over the westerly side of the lake. The waves were easily 3 feet high and feeling like they were climbing. I was not worried abut drowning or getting injured, but I was worried about what would happen if the canoes capsized with the food in them, as well as our clothes and such. The wind increased and the waters whitened on the crest of the waves. Out of the fog and the mist appeared one of the Lake George steam ships. As it cut across in front of us, the wake got higher and higher. I could see the waves headed towards our 7 canoes. Above the roar of the waves and wind the counselors were screaming, “hit it at a 45 degree angle!!!” Everyone began to adjust their canoes. As canoes disappeared in the troughs of the waves, my thought was the food! Continue reading A Change In The Weather→
