Dads – Walk With Your Kids

A short video I did while walking today.

Once Again Diamonds

Just a thought?
Just a thought?

Folks-whenever we think we can we are reminded that we can.

Here is a link of the blessing of the Lord in a young girl’s world as she finds a 3.85 carat diamond.

You may remember I wrote about another diamond not too long ago in Table Size in August.

God has coins in the fishes mouth. He does not need us to bring something, because we have brought Him.

The Favor Of The Lord

2013-07-31 12.17.20I felt this simple impression this morning.

The Lord is raising up a company of believers who are changing things with their words and their actions.

I saw this scripture.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:46–47 (The bold is mine.) Continue reading The Favor Of The Lord

Calling All Dads – Where Are You?

In my dad's back yard.
In my dad’s back yard.

When I was a child there was a TV program, Car 54 Where Are You?. It was about two police officers who drove about the city. This sitcom dealt with a funnier side of police life.  This morning following a dream in which I kept getting lost this story appeared to me about dads.  (The short version is there was a round building owned by the Haman Corp. In it, there were 4 stores, no wait 5 I found out. The difficulty was you would climb the stairs in one location, only to come down the stairs and find out the décor and store at the bottom of the stairs had changed.  At one point I walked up the stairs to talk to the garage owner, as I walked down the stairs it had me in a country store setting. I later found out the circular building had been divided into five stores but never figured out how the change came about.)

I thought “Dad’s? Where are you?”

As a dad and now a granddad, I am concerned about the dysfunctional parenting skills displayed by so my parents, but today my “focus” is on dads. Not because I am mad or think there are not problematic moms, just where my focus is. Continue reading Calling All Dads – Where Are You?

The Breakdown of Dividing Walls

trumpetDream A Little Dream

Last night I would have been “happy” with a little dream. But it was not to be so. I went to be late, only to find myself awakened from a “life size” dream, thinking it was two hours before and earlier than I had actually gone to bed!

Dreams are like that for me. Some dreams are little blips and others are time consuming and often require much thinking and processing.

My last dream was a little after 5AM. It seemed to tie all the others together.  (I do not like “conclusion” stories. I like clarification as I go. When people tell me stories and start at the end rather than the beginning, I find it difficult to follow.) But that is how the dreams went. Some snippets, others movies. Around The Edges – A Look At Two Sides

2012-04-22_08-03-20_978I often am giving thought to the “whys” of life. I look for God’s purpose in each situation. I want to hear from Him. I was the kid who never stopped asking questions.  One of those thoughts often has to do with how we “make things better.” I am concerned about the folks who are not plugged into God. Perhaps they never heard. Perhaps what they heard was false and ingenuous.  That bothers me. We are the church. And with that…

I think a lot about those who “walked” away from the Lord. The reason for my quotes in the previous sentence is that for the believer who has accepted Christ, how do you walk away? Does the circumcision by God (In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, Colossians 2:11) done in you get restored? Is He going to put it back on? Being A Man Putting On Your Big Boy Pants

Me walking Amy down the aisle!
Me walking Amy down the aisle!

This is a “delicate” article for me to write on some levels. For one, I am biased, being a man and being married. For another I have daughters. And for another I have been around long enough to see what works in the Christian church.

It has to do with “where have all the men gone” and I want to change it. I want the church family to be a healthy place for everyone. I have been seeing a move in the men of God coming and I think this is a piece of it. Continue reading Being A Man Putting On Your Big Boy Pants
