Many years ago I was in preparation for a meeting. It was in Maine. I made the decision to take a young man with me. The meeting was in ministry to the unbeliever, specifically seekers of false religions, including witchcraft, new age and paganism. Continue reading The Thing About Love In The Church

The Depth Of Our Love
Too often we hear people talk of whether or not something has value. The slightest thing has the potential for polarization. I have long ago come to the conclusion that value is found in Jesus. And what He holds to be valuable is what has value and value that remains. Continue reading The Depth Of Our Love
Is It Time To Celebrate?
I see all too often those that are dragged off course by the error of teaching, the deceptions of life and the unwillingness to rise up. And the hard part is knowing where some of it all ends. As you read this piece today I would like to encourage you to not allow the enemy to draw you to the side, to pull at you and destroy you. Continue reading Is It Time To Celebrate?
Faster Than Dial Up – He Is Here!
In 1995 I started my first internet company. Internet? Who would have thought? Technological progress at speeds previously before not thought of. Every time you turned around there was a new start-up. Deals were made on napkins in diners and restaurants. Sure the internet had been around some 40 plus years (Thank you Al Gore…)and computers could now fit on your desk instead of taking up your whole bedroom. Each week I would stand before rooms of business people, explaining to them how something they had not heard of, could not see, would make their business better. Continue reading Faster Than Dial Up – He Is Here!
The Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet
The man stood at the front of the second floor church assembly. I noticed that the wall had been removed to make more room. I was putting additional chairs in the room, making more room for people. There was a part of me that was feeling an undercurrent of something was “wrong” but honestly I was finding myself too busy taking care of getting people seated and everything squared away. Finally the last chair was in place. People were coming in and I sat to the side. Continue reading The Word Is a Lamp Unto My Feet
A Snippet Can Tip It
Yesterday I came home from work to see my wife had hung a bunch of pictures, paintings and photos. I had seen them years before but the last few years since the loss of our home it has been low on the priority list to hang anything up and they were in a closet. So I found it pretty cool. (A while ago someone gave me a word about hanging pictures. I wish I remembered who, but I see they were right.) I looked at them and thought about origins and beginnings. A few years ago I described prophecy as “pictures on the wall”. Jacob came in and he was impressed with Tina’s work as well Continue reading A Snippet Can Tip It
His Presence Is Present
This morning I awoke very early. Too early. I did not want to be awake. I just lay there. And I decided to hang out with Him. With God. I spent some time praying. Some time meditating. But I began to think “who is God”. Not is He real? Or does He exist. Not even the where is He or why can’t I see Him. But who is He? I can list off His characteristics or describe His values. I can tell you who He says He is. (For instance I am that I am.) But then I came down to the “who am I”. Do I see God as a person looking more like me? (Why does He show up like that?) Or do I see Him as some enlivened mist? Meaning when He enters your room or the atmosphere, how is that happening? Needless to say I often end up with considerably more questions, embracing more mystery than “one who is supposed to know” perhaps ought to. Continue reading His Presence Is Present
My Peace I Give To You
There were flashes in the air as the bombs went off. The small group abandoned their vehicle and headed for cover. They were more concerned for their safety than they were for the food and the vehicle that was left on the road. They brought music and were not prepared to fight whoever these people were. Continue reading My Peace I Give To You
When All Else Fails… Love
Last night I had one of those moments. One where fear tries to eat at you. My life was not in danger and there was no threat. It was just something invasive trying to take me off the balance I was maintaining. I can’t always explain those things. But I know this, that most of the time it is like being in the rain. Whether you know the cause or not, you are going to get wet. And so are others. Continue reading When All Else Fails… Love
2015-A Time Of Romance, A Vision Of Purpose
Why even announce for 2015? Why seek the Lord at all for this? Is it any different?
Throughout yesterday as the messages of hope and the future appeared, I thought “I agree”. “Amen”. “Good for you!” I know people get caught up in resolutions and change. They want to see the new year as better than the last. There is a hope on the table. Continue reading 2015-A Time Of Romance, A Vision Of Purpose
