I was up at 3 this morning. I would like to tell you I “had a reason”, but that would not be truth. For some reason, I woke and found myself wanting to or needing to pray. I found myself praying for situations in our country. Troubling, difficult situations. It matters less about what they are and simply that we know to pray.
As I lay there wanting to sleep but knowing it was not fruitful, I began to see people and places. I felt like I was overhead, zooming down from an eagle’s perspective. Silently I would view a circumstance or an individual only to find myself “needing” to pray. Continue reading Thy Kingdom Come!→
I have been around long enough to have seen a few things in my life. One of the things I do is encourage people to hear from the Lord. To hear from Him directly. How do I know? Everywhere I turn there are dream sites and meetings. I have taught on prophecy and dreams for years.
But there are two observations I have. One is the person who is always looking for an answer from someone. (I personally believe you hear better for you than I do for you!) They are wanting to have someone else do it. I think it interesting that we think enough of a dream or a word to believe it from God but we do not trust that we have the ability to employ discernment or understanding. Wisdom AND revelation ought to walk together Continue reading Wanting To Hear From The Lord→
As I read the news I see that we are “desperately” in need of change. As I listen to friends I see “how much I could be praying for”. Even in my own life I have “needs” or things that I would desire to be different. At some point I will carry my thinking up the stairs and into my room and spend time with Him. I have already spent some time with Him. He is my rock, my refuge, my peace.
I read on the burning topics of the day; economy, racism, finance and pain. I pray over the articles as I read through. I think like Radio Shack, “you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers”. People have pain, we have answers. I am not talking about platitudes or premises of false hope, but we have Him, the ANSWER! Continue reading Read The News, Change The World!→
While heading for the caffeine IV this morning I felt the nudge of the Lord. A simple word, overlook, opened up. It appeared. I began to think about it.
On a personal level, I felt the Lord saying there is an “overlook” or overlooked concept, application or method or action I had not implemented. I sat there for a moment and was reminded of my grandson’s prayer last night as he does with me when he is before bed. He often prays for his father, his mom to get work, all the people to be healed and such. Last night there was twist. He prayed that I would raise my mother and father from the dead. (Not really a stretch when you think Jesus’s death released people buried. Matthew 27:51-53) Wow! Teach them to believe for the impossible and… Continue reading The Overlook In Your Life→
All too often I watch a parent see their children walk away from the church, leaving thoughts of Christ behind. The parent feels the failure. I have “been there.”
Let me first say I am not a “pastoral” gift” despite years of being the “pastor” of the church I started. I am a prophet, and the perspective I take here may be more prophetic than pastoral or teacher.
But more importantly I am husband, a parent and a grandparent. My view is in part based on scripture and my understanding of it combined with my experience. Between my wife and I we have 5 children. We have 6 grandchildren. We have been married for over 20 years. We have made a lot of mistakes. Continue reading When Your Children Move Away From God→
Too often I and others have sought answers rather than Him. Perhaps our question ought to be a pursuit of Him.
Over the years I have watched people seek the Lord for “answers.” We have made formulas for how God is to answer. “God answers ‘yes, no or maybe later’” is an example of what we have built upon. We have told people that we can have whatever we ask in keeping with Jesus’ word. So many things we (And I say “we” because I have participated in them.) have set up as rules…in a kingdom where there are no rules. If asked “is this how God works?” my answer might be yes at the time. But at others no. Why the reason for my apparent “have it both ways” you might ask. The reason is God is not a God of rules but of relationship. Continue reading Yes No Or Maybe…→
From time to time I have needed healing in my body, just as others have. I had to trust God for my healing. You may be in that place yourself. God wants you healed and made whole. (1 Chronicles 16:34; 1 John 4:16).
When we are sick it is always God’s heart to heal and restore health and life to you.
Jesus paid the full price for your healing, health and wholeness so you could experience His abundant life. Today, there is no symptom in your body that is too insignificant for Him to care about, and no condition that is greater than what His finished work has accomplished. I am not sure what others pray for, dream about or even think about. I know just praying opens doors for me in people’s lives, shows me things about them that I never thought about and absolutely wow’s me.
Last night I had a number of dreams and I will share part of one that opened my eyes to the goodness of God in a further way in a moment.
First things first! God wants to pour His extravagance out on you today. Open your hands! Open your mouths! He has good things for you. In the dream where I was He let us give a million pounds of food to one person! God is everywhere, but He has seasons of moving us! Watch. It is confirmed by others what He is doing.
First let me clarify, I have had a sense that many were feeling the ill effects of circumstances and situations. Two friends followed up with me to ask for prayer.
I have watched good people getting the stuffing knocked out of them. In particular the workplace has been getting harder for some. The heat is on. (All I can hear is that song “The Heat Is On” by Glenn Frey! Yesterday I wrote of the heat and what it does to Mexican Jumping Beans.) My wife as well as my friends are working hard to be the witness they are called to be in the workplace. So, as I prayed for those in the workplace I saw this. I am continuing to add to the “series” about praying for one leaders. Last night as the fourth and final presidential debate for 2012, I came to the place where I shut off the debate and began to pray for blessing on the debates, blessing upon the two contenders, moderator and gallery.
