Last night as I went to say goodnight to Jacob, I looked down at a sock monkey someone had made for me a few years ago. I picked it up and brought it downstairs. I left it on the chair. I went back up to pray with Jacob and Tina and returned to the couch downstairs. I sat there and thought about children and the similarities between how I would want my children treated. How God treats me. I sat there and looked at the sock monkey. (As a child I thought a particular sock monkey was God. Not sure why. But I did. Telling the story one day, a lady gave me a new one.) Personal Responsibility Belongs To Someone
While much of the news and social media feeds is consumed with thoughts on bad movies, yoga pants and Speedos, the fact of the matter ought to go all the way back to the simple question of why. Why do we flame others over their thoughts and opinions? Why do we care? And maybe we can jump to “how did they arrive at that thought” or conclusion. Child Of Promise – Child Of Change
I had seen this child before. I knew her from somewhere. Upon waking up I remembered I saw this child in a dream as I prepared for trip to participate in a revival. In the dream I was working on a home I had owned in the 80’s. A friend named Rose (His last name. Rose of Sharon?) was working alongside me. He had ordered a load of materials. As this monstrous truck unloaded, blocking traffic on the hill. There amongst the trees lay a child. Someone went to pick her up. But in the moment they walked away all the materials had been applied to the building. The house was built. They came over and gave me this child. I held her and she began to smile, to laugh. Her smile changed the weather! I could feel it, see it change. My friend looked at the house and said “great job”. I remember the burned down house that had been there weeks before. The work and labor to clean it up and get it ready to restore. (In reality the actual man who bought the house when I lived there had a last name that meant to cease, to stop, to halt!) But as I looked at the house, it was done! Finished! Complete! Continue reading Child Of Promise – Child Of Change
Jordan Tyler Wade – Happy Birthday!
Today is my oldest grandson’s birthday. He will be 14. To know Jordan is to love him. He is pretty much a boy through and through. And now he is 14. His ship has picked up anchor and begun to sail. Continue reading Jordan Tyler Wade – Happy Birthday!
Come Out! Come Out Wherever You Are!
Last night I connected with a friend who I have not spoken to in years. Lives changed. Different paths. Fellow New Englanders we engaged over my article on New England. She wrote back. “Wow. Yes I resonate but I have always felt that it was our time because we live in the eternal now in Him but it does pair up with how God has called me over the past 25 years to release intimate love, boundless expressions of worship and wild creativity in the church, outside of the church, to large groups and individuals. Beautiful words and declarations…He’s always there with the goods willing to release them in and thru us. I don’t believe there is a need for delay or a sense of distance of any kind. At least that’s my theology now after 25 years.” Continue reading Come Out! Come Out Wherever You Are!
New England Is In For A Change!
I planned on writing something else. And as I sat down and reached for my laptop, I heard these words.
New England! It’s your time. It’s your season.
And that changed everything for me. Continue reading New England Is In For A Change!
Bringing Family To The Forefront
I can reminisce about the days of my youth. Not even how much more agile or able to do more things I was, but the time and the season in my life where life was dear. Where the pace of life was different unless you chose to speed it up. Would I not want children to spend less time in front of a TV screen or imagine life without a cell phone in favor of being outside? Now understand, I value technology, but I do not value our response to it. Anymore than I appreciate one sided reporting or the drama of a storm. I can bemoan the fact that people are too knowledgeable yet lacking in common sense. That we have chosen safety over reality in so many cases. That we have allowed ourselves to be regulated into a corner. Or be concerned that simple education has become so simple that it seems like everyone must pass or else. Hearing For The Family Fantastic
Last night our home group was on the topic of Hearing God For Your Family. Frankly it is an emotional topic because we came from family! Perhaps in your mind it was non-existent but somehow some way there was a parent or two, which means grandparents. Family. Continue reading Hearing For The Family Fantastic
A New Side Of Prepping
Yesterday I wrote on revival and more specifically the growing wave of His presence in the New England area. Many many people read and shared this word with friends and of course, I would like to say thank you. I think the growing consensus is that what we embraced, held fast during powerful times of revival, renewal and the presence of God did not carry over into the lives we lived. I get it. People quit jobs, left spouses and abandoned children. But any believer who has opened their Bible knows that, that type of behavior is NOT reflective of God, His character or His teaching. That response was not God. Continue reading A New Side Of Prepping
