A Simple Word, A Word Of Peace

Many years ago I found myself in trouble. Not just a little trouble but a lot. I did not know peace and I tried to find it.

Long before I ever got saved I sought to find peace. I was tortured by depression, anxiety and such. I was on enough medicines to sink a battleship.

And then one day in the midst of turmoil the Lord spoke to me and peace came in the midst of the storm. And I came to realize that His peace was supernatural and efficient in ways I could never imagine. Certainly years of self-help, meditation and seeking had not worked for me. We Are Not Puppets

Last night as my wife and I were driving home, I saw amazing “blue lasers” come out of the sky. At first I thought it might be reflections in the air from a police car and its blue lights. But clearly they were directional blue as if shot from lasers.

I read a particular article that came close to home. It showed a community that was being forced to make large decisions regarding school children. The town like many is on the “downhill slide” in regard to economics.

The Floodgates Are Opening

The little old lady walked me to the door. While she walked me through the beautiful home she kept talking about travel. We reached the door and I walked down a very narrow ramp. As we reached the bottom large animals that looked much like rhinoceroses came into view, running across the front yard. We continued to speak of travel and I shared stories from trips to California and flights that had been taken.

Her parting words hit me. “You travel well.”

When God Says No

So often in the body of Christ we get caught up in God being the ATM of all ATMs. “Ask and you shall receive” is what we learn and soon decide that is a great idea. Let me be honest in saying I sometimes pray that way, and maybe just maybe so do you if you are really honest about it.

And in the desire to give you full disclosure, I don’t always do “well” with no especially when it affects my finances. A little over a year ago, I became ill. I was so sick that I ended up losing my business. And that was on top of our home being destroyed. The good news is that the sickness was the result of environmental issues and solved by moving. The loss of income not so easily repaired. So, when my wife lost her job of nearly 12 years, things became a little more “difficult.” Continue reading When God Says No →

Enjoying The Body of Christ

Despite tech issues, I was simply reminded life is not all that serious.

Yesterday I had a simply great day with friends and family at our church gathering in New Hampshire. The music was great and the people were friendly and fun to be with. The message my friend Scott delivered was a joy to hear.

I know for many, church is not always a fun place to be. Words of condemnation coupled with guilt, pain and other hurtful feelings can often keep you from the very place of understanding and joy God has for you. Every Church Needs A…

Having been in the church some 20 plus years I find I know less now about what the church needs today than I did when I entered this life.

I find that Christ, apostle Paul and handful of proverbs have had way more understanding about what the church has needed than I ever could. The Runway Of God 2014 – 10 Fresh Realities

I live fairly close to our local airport. I love airports. As a child I would go to East Haven Connecticut’s Tweed New Haven Airport, lie on the roof of my parent’s car and watch them take off and land.

I enjoy going over to the Keene airport here where I live just to watch the planes land and take off. There is something about it that intrigues me. It is one thing to see automotive traffic converge at a 4 way intersection but still another to watch planes as they land or take off from the additional dimension of altitude. A Dream Of Goodness

Not every dream I have is a “multi-user” dream. Many of my dreams speak to me, others for individuals, a church and then there are the broad spectrum dreams that are fora lot of people.

Lately we have seen a lot of blessing. Not millions yet, but lots of $100, $500 and a few $1000 blessings headed to people. Yesterday I went to visit my oldest son, his wife and their baby before picking up my grandson Jacob to spend the Christmas week with me.

On the way home I needed to buy gas. I realized I had a choice. Buy gas in Vermont (In May they added a new gas tax.) or squeak across across the line and buy it in my home state of New Hampshire. So imagine my surprise when i was approaching the border and there was a single gas station left and I felt the nudge from the Lord, “this is the place.” Hmmmm… So, I hesitantly pulled in. I put my card in. It asked for a rewards card. I plugged that in. (I had not used it in over a year.) How amazed was I when it recorded a $.15 a gallon discount. I filled up.
