A Dose Of Humility Changes Things

2014-05-16 18.40.52Last night before falling asleep I was thinking about the folks I speak to about Jesus. The folks that I might invite to a church gathering. I found myself rolling with answers and thought process. Perhaps some of it was triggered by a few conversations yesterday. Continue reading A Dose Of Humility Changes Things

Destroy The Works Of The Enemy

leejohndrowteamThe enemy of our soul is alive and well, regardless of our belief or lack of belief in him. The devil and his minions move about looking to hurt, kill and destroy. I bring this up because lately I have noticed a number of folks who were struck down by a virus or disease that in many cases had slipped by undiagnosed. Ultimately each received the diagnosis by the most recent team of doctors. But in a few cases, some required 2, 3, even 4th or 5th doctors and teams. It would be one thing if the “disease” just noodled along, but in the most recent cases I had been involved in, the illness came in like gangbusters. Continue reading Destroy The Works Of The Enemy

The 60’s Are Coming

leejohndrowteamToday we step into December. Last night I had a vision that rocked me on the way home. One of those times that leaves you sitting on the side of the road, wanting to get it all down. Tears, laughter and thoughts of “what happened”.

I was driving through a community I had lived in. I was reminded of some of the cool things I had experienced there. Memories of goodness. My heart wanted to hear “change, restoration” and all I was able to muster was “it was good”. I looked at the old and empty buildings and I thought “what can these offer?” I just thought of the emptiness and the times past. Continue reading The 60’s Are Coming

The Lost, The Lonely, The Loveless

alyssacamera 004In the dream my wife and I were asked to minister in a town in Connecticut. We drove down there and had arranged for some of our team to join us later. Before the church gathering we were to meet the minister at a school in the area. We arrived and pulled up to the school. Like any school, there was a number of students crossing from one section to another. Some going to their cars. We pulled open the front door and went to the office to sign in. We were escorted to the gymnasium. Continue reading The Lost, The Lonely, The Loveless

When Love Is The Answer…

2013-12-20 17.14.38Jacob said good night to me and turned to my wife and said “he is easy to love”. I thought to myself as I came downstairs, is that not what being more “like” Jesus is. In a world where life is seemingly getting harder, there needs to be more love.

My daughter Amy wrote this on her Facebook wall yesterday. “Is what you do daily making a positive impact on people? Are you leaving behind a legacy? Is what we consume our time with all worth it? Questions to ask yourself. Realizing that being busy all the time isn’t helping to live a life with purpose. Food for thought.” Continue reading When Love Is The Answer…

Love Is In The Air

heargod2Love is in the air.

I awoke this morning with a sense that there was going to be a season of love that would dwarf the summer of love in Haight-Ashbury in 1967. And it was going to be leading up to this year’s Christmas. Some of it has been by design (National economies and policies.) while some of it has been by “happenstance”. Regardless of how we got here, the scuffing of our hearts has revealed the need for love. Continue reading Love Is In The Air

God Focused – Family Centered

Jacob
Jacob

Yesterday I spent a lot of time with my family. I had my 3 of my grandchildren over as well as my daughter. A lot was going on. The funeral for a friend was one. Making sure I gave the children the time they needed and wanted. Getting ready for a turkey dinner was on the agenda and at one point I took them to look at the house my son and his wife are purchasing here in Keene. (And that lead to going around a looking at other homes for sale.) Finally we got home for dinner and a movie. Continue reading God Focused – Family Centered

Will They Know?

break chainI had someone tell me that people would not be pleased with my word about a particular subject. That the church would reject the word I gave. I have never found myself to care whether a word is rejected or accepted. What is more important to me is whether my community accepts me or rejects me. Whether they care about me. Like others I have made my share of mistakes and perhaps I will again. Actually, it is proved that if you are still breathing, making a mistake is high on the list! Continue reading Will They Know?

Love Overturns Mountains

What if...
What if…

While reading this morning, the morning of our beloved time change, I read about Joseph of Arimathea. A man who awaited the kingdom of God. He was waiting on something. Whether religiously or with true heart, asked for the body of Christ. Continue reading Love Overturns Mountains

Guess Who’s Watching?

leejohndrowteamYesterday I had a meeting which a superior said to me, “you are spiritual and it shows in how you do things.” Interesting that they were watching.

Many times I have come in under the radar to see someone’s heart turned to the Lord. No tracts, mini Bibles or newsletters. Just love. I have watched God change a person’s life so many times I cannot count. I have had folks come to my home and spoken to them. From cults and covens and watched them begin to weep as I have shared God’s love. Admittedly I was not always like that with God. I was a “beat them over the head with it” guy.
